If Kentucky loses to a horrible New Mexico State even a paralyzed-from-the-neck-up clown like Mitch would have to act.

Would that be a good thing?

I hope it's a really tight game and the New Mexicans kick a field goal at the end to beat us.

UMass was down last week at the Swamp to Florida 10-7 entering the fourth quarter. Kentucky entered the fourth quarter down 38-0. I guess UMass has been out-recruiting Stoops lately.

What would you expect Mitch to do at this point? He is not going to fire Stoops. Hiring a coach who has no head coaching experience was obviously a really dumb thing to do but Mitch has created this mess and right now he has no financial way to get out, so, like it or not, Coach Stoops is here for this year and next and maybe even one more beyond that. I would suggest you learn to live with the situation and realize that there is nothing to look forward to, at least in football, for a very long time. It will take the next coach at least 3 more years to fix the problems so we are looking at potentially five to six more years of losing football with no possibility of a bowl game.

I submit that firing Mitch would give the fans a boost of confidence in the program.

Don't want the Cats to lose, but after watching what has happened the last game and a half, if players start to quit playing, and I think some did yesterday, this season could get really ugly

I support this idea ... He has the cheapest buyout, doesn't need to be involved selecting more coaches, gives the next AD time to work with Stoops and if need be make phone calls... I'd consider a move to let Mitch step down to be one of the more prudent ones that could be made.... But don't expect it to happen.

Why is it impossible to buy these coaches out?

It is not $20M upfront.

You have no idea if UK can handle this anymore than the rest of us and I'd suggest that the new TV deal affords us to take on this unfortunate debt.

I saw that coming, so I got out last year. I'm glad because now I'm not stressing out over this turd. I still stress a little bit, though because I miss not having a team to care for.

FWIW - New Mexico State upset New Mexico yesterday 32-31. They may have some fight n them.

Who is in charge of scheduling these powerhouses???

We need more cupcakes! Asbury college intramural flag football runner ups were available, why not these guys?

So you want a new AD and new coach...thats great strategy
The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result. With that being said, do we let Mitch pick us ANOTHER coach and expect a different result this time?

I didn't think we would have to worry about offensive output, but with Vandy, Mizzou both scoring over 40 yesterday, and now those likely wins are a bit worrisome. It's bad that we don't have any fight in us these last two games. New Mexico State will come and give us a dog fight, let's see how we respond...but being outscore like 85 in the last 6 quarters is troublesome indeed.

A loss might do more good than a win at this point. Sometimes you need a good forest fire to clean out the underbrush, if you know what I mean.

New Mexico State can't possibly be that much worse than UK. I mean just by watching them the last two weeks UK is pretty much ranked in the 100's. USM and an unranked Florida team won easily while New Mexico State beat a team that went to a bowl last year.

Worrisome? Worrisome?

Hell, beating both of them would be major upsets as of right now.

I don't know, but I believe the slot goes to the university, not an individual. Imagine Kentucky having that slot with a competent, creative, awake AD? Something good might even come of it.

Yeah, I have no clue how that works. Maybe they keep it in state and let Jurich take his place? :joy:
