This basketball season is really looking like a massive disappointment

All that optimism & we truly appear to be the worst team in the conference.

That is how the portal goes. Win some in the portal. This year we lost. Time to just develop the young guys to get better. Need to see a lot of Ugusuk, Conyers, and Scott moving forward. We lose? What's the difference. We are already losing.
They are 2bd string talent. No reason to give them experience

We are not winning with this group. We can keep banging our head against the wall with whom we deem the starters. However, we only get something out of this seAson by giving some of the young guys time and experience. I might give another couple of games, but it will be time to pull the plug at some point.

Last night was really like a we need to see something game for Lamont Paris IMO and it looks like it will be a historically bad season. Team now basically playing for respect. Ugusuk is a promising young player. Good size and can drive. Conyers and Scott show flashes but strength and conditioning appears to be a serious issue in the program. I'm all for recruiting a lot of long athletic guys but the recruiting and scheme doesn't seem to be working, especially in the backcourt.

We were out two starters last night and that was evident. No ball handler out there. I think Conyers needs to get more minutes and Ugusuk, but they lack defensively. I'm a former long time Lexington resident and I love when kids stay home, but Cam Scott needs to get in the gym and eat more. He's a boy amongst men out there. 6'6 , 170 lbs, with the latter looking like a stretch. At least Conyers at 6'7 212 lbs can play inside and battle for rebounds. Cam Scott should've redshirted. Physically not ready.

No leadership at point guard, insufficient offensive prowess all the way around, and even our player who fancies himself a first round pick plays with tentativeness and doesn't hit the basic shots consistently. We're toast this year in MBB. Transfer your energies to WBB and baseball.

100% agree with this since it's obvious we're not making the Big Dance. I'd like to see a starting lineup of Ugusuk, Scott, Conyers, CMB, Pringle. Let those guys who are talented, but need seasoning, get the most minutes. Wright is who he is....a reserve that comes on the bench in spells. And speaking of reserves off the bench, I'd way rather see Butler, even though his defense is horrid, get some of that seasoning. We don't need BVD on the court. Davis is what he is....on occasion a defensive specialist. He should also come off the bench for spells. Same for Thomas. Let him be a spark plug like Vinny Johnson used to be for the Pistons. Thomas could be our "microwave." Might as well play the guys that need developing for future seasons. Iron sharpens iron.

The Belgium lawyer can have an impact when playing, but I do agree that Coach Paris staff need to figure a way to get Butler some playing time since South Carolina will likely need Butler to play next season.

I have to say I doubt Paris’ talent evaluation and judgment when putting a group out on the court. Team looks in cohesive and undisciplined. Just a sense that there are favoritism, popularity, and political issues going on within the program.

I think Paris is a good coach but he needs more NIL monies to draw more portal players to USC. But if I had to be honest I want all of the money to go to the football team because basketball isn’t as important to me!!
I appreciate your honesty. I'd like more going to baseball. But neither of us is the athletic director.

The team looks like they need a point guard who knows how to take care of the ball! There is not enough experienced depth to discipline a guy for turning the ball over. The big men we have are not going to dominate the paint, that’s a bad combination when you don’t have a point guard, the two injuries don’t help and I’m not talking talent I’m talking depth! CMB can’t do it all, especially when the opponents game-plan is to shut him down, there is no one else on the team to go to! It’s pretty simple!

Like I said it’s just something I sense when I watch how the players interact and pass to each other. I could be wrong and could have worded it more clearly. I do feel like there are one or two guys who are “in there” that really shouldn’t be playing as much as they are without naming names.

We'll still pull of a big upset. But no post-season is staring us in the face... unless we go on some sort of amazing run.

UGA and Arky are the only shots we have at conference wins.

Its going to be year by year now. MIZZOU didn't win a conference game last year and this year they are good.
I can see that. It's hard to get a handle on today’s teams, with what we are losing it looks like we could be at the bottom of the league for the next couple years, but who really knows anymore

Again, please explain the political issues present -- have I missed the news?

We have a point guard on the floor?

Explain please.
Here's the quote you posted. He admitted he could have been more clear.
