This is just more evidence that Stoops has no clue and is "in way over his head." I mean, how do you hire a guy to your offense that hasn't ever called plays in the SEC? This isn't a training ground. We need an experienced SEC OC to stop this sinking ship. And to top it off, he brings in a QB coach to help him. This is obsurd!!Please. No optimistic posts on this site. This is the football board. Only gloom and doom is acceptable.
PS. Thanks for the positive information. Just didn't know how to handle it.
FWIW, Hinshaw was all over Hoak before UK got in the picture. What region is Gran and Hinshaw going to mostly responsible for when it comes to recruiting?
Believe I saw somewhere on twitter saying Gran was ranked a top 10 recruiter on rivals.
Hinshaw was top 10 on Rivals. Gran was top 25 on ESPN. Both recruit south Florida and Ohio.
Both will increase our presence in Florida. Hinshaw is on a qb out of VA named Lindel Stone. I watched his hudl tape last night and really liked what I saw. He made some impressive throws.
It could be man. Not sure if FSU is after him or not. He does have an offer from Ole Miss and UCLA though. My guy did mention a QB 'up your way' that he hoped FSU would still be able to get.....may have been this guy Boss

I'm reading all the hype and seeing where these guys have coached, and just got me to thinking, on why have these guys moved around so much and left these big time programs. And ended up coaching at Cincy.
I must be missing something on why they were replaced if they're this good.
Gran got the opportunity to be an offensive coordinator under his long time friend Tubberville. Up until that point he had been a damn good position coach. Tubbs gave him a chance and he made the most of it. Hinshaw is still an upcoming coach. He did a lot of good things at Tennessee but Butch Jones brought his own guys in there when he took the position. Just the way it is. Also coordinators and position coaches bounce around in coaching. Just because some one ends up at what you or I deem a lesser program doesn't mean they suck.I'm reading all the hype and seeing where these guys have coached, and just got me to thinking, on why have these guys moved around so much and left these big time programs. And ended up coaching at Cincy.

Coaches are like QBs they are made to be hired and fired or transfer. Whenever HC gets fired that means 8 to 9 guys looking for jobs. You would be hard pressed to find a coach who hasn't been ask to pack his bags at some point.
both of these guys are capable of walking into a living room pretty much anywhere in the country and connecting with recruits and their families.
They both have landed 4 and 5 star recruits in the past as lead recruiters. Granted that was at schools like FSU, Auburn, and Tennessee, but still they are very good recruiters. You know this how?

Still they are very good recruiters. We are already bringing in 4 star kids on the regular now. These two will only help. Both have very strong ties to Florida.Exactly.
I think it's the best hire UK could of made and probably the best decision Stoops has made here since he arrived but if I learned anything over the homerun hires UK has made in football starting with Mark Stoops, is our fence for Homeruns seem to be on a teeball field while others are hitting them out of Crosley. I 'll wait to see the results on the field before I wet myself.
Wasn't there a similar thread from WVU people who said what a great hire Dawson was too? Not comparing the two, but let's temper our expectations just a bit.
You know this how?
Why is there not Div 1 womens' football?
Exactly.

Gran and Tuberville had a previous relationship at UM and Auburn. After 25 years he must have wanted to be a coordinator pretty bad to work for that ******* again.
You are thinking and reaching way too much. Coach Gran has a long history with coach Tuberville.I'm reading all the hype and seeing where these guys have coached, and just got me to thinking, on why have these guys moved around so much and left these big time programs. Petrino, Brown, and many other solid OCs have worked for Tubbs. You need to read more.
sort of like....uh....I don't know....uh.........maybe.....UK FOOTBALL'S!!Because there would be too much drama and divides in the locker room.![]()
