It honestly. Probably wont be over over until we are out of NCAAT or he really loses the team. Sadly were not a top25 job.. no sense firing early.. no one is lining up to come here.

You guys can quit dreaming…Mitch will NOT fire him! Already paying Stoops a fortune NOT to coach; it ain’t happening this year! Hell, he gave Joker 3 years and Pope will get the same.
I agree. Mitch isn't firing the basketball coach (with buyout) and the football coach (with a huge buyout) in essentially the same year.

I expect the announcement of a general manager being the thing paraded in front of fans to give them hope and lesser criticism of the program.

Yea I don't give a fck.. If I ain't at 51 I'm not gonna.. Hate him..
Lol, idk what this means dude. Like the young one’s say, “touch grass.” To visibly hate and ruin your night for a coach that is TRYING is insane. It sucks, we suck, the coach sucks. But to hate someone that is on your side is crazy and also helps future coaches from coming to BB.

Mitch treated this program like a third rate D3 school instead of carefully evaluating all options after Cal gifted him an out.
.
Mitch needs to be sent to prison for this crime
In a fair world, the swim team scandal would’ve sent him to prison. But in this world he got to keep his job, sweep the scandal under the rug and ruin the basketball program instead.

If Pope comes back don’t expect staff changes or a GM. He hasn’t introduced one now, he never will. Mitch Barnhart will give him confidence to run back this whole disaster for another year or two. Hope boosters step in and end this madness.

Great! We can look forward to another offseason video with him and Mitch acting like they get along and how things will change! 🤮

As coach of Kentucky, you can’t regress in your second year after hand picking the team and spending that much money. We have good athletes but they don’t shoot or pass or handle the ball as well as they need to do to win games against good teams. I don’t know how good Missouri really is but they are better than we are, and a whole lot cheaper.

This is important. The lawsuit against UK also names Barnhart. Was scheduled for June ‘26 but somehow gets delayed until early 2027. I expect Mitch to be retired by summer ‘26. Might mean nothing but we’ll see.

Not a top 25 job? Lol wow what a dumb post

Its not, not in this NIL era. 5 years ago, its a top spot. Not anymore though.

Until Mitch, UK and our fringe fans can get it through their dumb skulls that the current iteration of college basketball isnt about legacy, or pleasing the blue hairs, or having the best soft serve.. then this is where we will remain. If our priority is actually winning basketball games (and im honestly not even sure it is for Mitch and UK) then we have to overhaul our entire strategy.

No matter how bad Mitch sucks as an ad this is still one of the top jobs in college basketball. Pope spent 22 million dollars on this team. The JMI stuff can be worked out

8 point lead under 5 minutes, turnover after turnover, lose again, not making the tournament.
Probably. But the league isn't that tough this year so you never know. We'll see what they're made of over the next month. They could go on a streak or limp home and miss the tourney or totally quit. I sure don't know which it will be.

Wasn't a top-enough job to lure in any legit hire, and it hasn't been since last century. Our only real success over the last 25 years was because we just happened to be firing BCG as Cal was in big trouble at Memphis.

This MAY turn back into a top job IF we get rid of Mitch AND we fix whatever is going on with JMI.. but thats a lot of wishful thinking.

Who is Pope gonna get to play for him next year? I wouldn’t if I was a talented recruit.
That's the other layer to this thing. He just wasted 22 million dollars by showing just how bad at player evaluation he is and recruits don't want to play for him. He has zero signed for next season and the rest that are available aren’t going to sign either.
Next year will be worse if Mitch brings Pope back.

I don’t agree with you at all. This is one of the most valuable programs in college basketball according to Forbes. Plenty of coaches would be interested. We just don’t have an AD that makes good decisions with our men’s team. That’s our problem.
