Coach is going to slowly pick all the right pieces that fit together in his system. I am assuming he is looking at 50-60 players. I think by the first of May we will all be very happy with a team that will make us happy and most likely compete with anyone.

This is why we are so much better off with Mark Pope than John Calipari in today's college basketball landscape. Pope has a definite system. The transfer portal is the perfect resource for him to pick and choose the players that have the skills, character and temperament to blend together as a team and execute the system.
Calipari, on the other hand, is all about the player's individual measurables that translate to NBA draft position. Further, when you are recruiting on the basis of NBA projections, the makeup of this year's recruiting class may require you to play a completely different style than you played with last year's class, and on and on. You must constantly adapt and when you become old and lazy, your random collection of lottery picks is ill-prepared for success.

Will be interesting seeing how Cal does without a dominate freshman class. Will be more about X's and O's with fewer 5 stars to pamper.
It won’t translate to much but he will still get highly ranked freshman classes there.
