This is not acceptable, Maineri!

Better get your old a ss in gear!
Makes you wonder if he knows how to manage the NIL stuff to make sure we upgrade in talent. He knows how to coach. Does he know how to build a program today? This was always going to be the question with this hire.

too early to tell…but not like he’s got a ton of time to figure it out.

Pretty typical, new coach with a brand new team to him and the program gets 11 games to determine if he will succeed or not!
I've always wondered how you "teach" clutch hitting. As you mentioned a brand new team, work with what you have for now. Some can handle pressure situations, others can't so much. In due time PM will be seen if he can succeed here. I believe he will do such.

He's paid way too much money to give him more time. In this NIL / transfer era you should be able to turn around a team instantly. Time for coach to pack his things and head out of town.

Lololol, but you are ready to give Zelenskyy endless amounts of money to fight a war he can't win....priceless!!!

There were ample opportunities, but clutch hitting has not been there in either game.
Notice that our pitching had 16 SO's but they put the bat on the ball when it counted.

It takes a coach four or five years to get "his players" in "his system", he needs more time.

Am I doing this right?

You are doing it right. Our problem is he will be ready to leave by then…if not before.

Felt a little awkward to hear him talk about how important the game is to "South Carolina people" and "South Carolina fan" instead of saying "our".

Or you could just fire him after the first bad series of the season. Pull the plug! Giving a coach time is a waste of time.
With scholarships, NIL money and coaches being paid big money (Maineri is making $1.3 million this year) coaches should not be given a lot of time. This is not small town high school baseball where the coach is a PE/Civics teacher who gets a supplement to be the baseball coach and the players are all walk ons who have to be zoned for the school.

If you hired a carpenter to do work in your house and he demanded $500 a day to work for you, you wouldn't put up with him hanging the doors upside down and the joints in the crown moulding not meeting for very long.

I agree. Building a collegiate baseball program and working on a house are very similar situations, and the coach and carpenter should be treated accordingly. The new coach has had three weeks to get this right, and it's clearly not working.

Fire that bum today! Cancel the players' scholarships and NIL deals!

Are we not "starting" two players that couldn't get significant time on the field on that team "up there"? The guy can coach, but can we get the players like we used to be able to get?

We haven't gotten those types of players in almost 8 years. What would make you think we'd be able to get them now?

According to everyone here we have SEC money!!!!
Not for baseball NIL.
Also kids today are too young to remember 2010 & 2011. So that's not going to draw them.
We are doing something we've not had to do in 29 years - rebuild our baseball program.
People saying Coach Mainieri is done and over his head 14 games into his first season, quite honestly, need to STFU and let the season play out.

100% that said, you need to relax. Most of the shots at Mainieri are only tongue and cheek (most of them).
