You get rid of a guy based on an independent investigation and it was supposed to be “mutually agreed to separate”, yet the report where that Mutual conclusion was based on needs more time before it can be released. They paid $591k out of $1.074 million and they don’t want to release the report? Sorry but that’s pathetic!

Translation: we are going to determine the lowest PR hit we will take between "massaging" the results to look less like a railroad job or not releasing it all. We all know they wouldn't dare release the truth because it either shows Koennig has been allowed to do egregious things for months (unlikely) or that vague claims from players is the only thing turned up.

If they want to gain back supporters of the program, they better release all the details and prove exactly what VK did to warrant his removal and explain why KM hasn't been punished for defamation.

They know they overreacted to all of this and paid VK hush money to go away so it wouldn’t bring Twitter Mob attention to WVU. Lyons and Brown have no backbone.

Nothing will be mentioned in the report about Martin lying about multiple accusations. It’s also funny they are using Covid19 excuse to delay the paperwork request even longer, yet they don’t delay processing tuition and billing for each enrolled student.

Vic Koenning doesn't have this tremendous track record to sale recruits nor was he able to connect with the players.

Lesley and Addae are the future. Addae can recruit. Lesley going to make players into dogs. Could have a high round draft this year to sell.


You have to trust Neal Brown.
End of the day you want a winning team on the field.

To have a winning team you have to recruit athletes. You need the coaches who can bring in these athletes.

Did they hire a third party to perform the investigation? If not, then this wasnt an independent investigation, it was an internal investigation.

I highly doubt Martin was ever interviewed by an outside party.

What they are going to do is cobble together notes and emails and pass that off as their investigation.

If they conducted an actual investigation, then at minimum there should be a report for the interview of VC and a report of the interview for KM.

Something tells me they don't really have those.

He added, “I stressed to our team and staff that we will be open and transparent throughout the University process.”

Talk about CYA language.

I think Brown wanted VC gone and coordinated this...

the funniest part that I’ve seen is the people making excuses for WVU to not release it because “it’s already over with and who cares who was telling the truth”.

For those who have integrity, it matters greatly.

You also forgot that Brown supposedly didn’t do **** when Martin complained to him and then you have Brown saying that Martin never complained to him. Sounds like that immediate action is to just save face and someone is lying (Brown or Martin).

Guys. Vic took $500,000 and bailed. Stop blaming just one side of this. If he was innocent, or believed he was, he had legal actions he could have taken. Instead, he chose the money.

Lawyer up and contest for his full contract when they already put the public smear in?

That would be a really dumb move. It would take years for him to see any money, assuming he would get any.

He walked away with a good deal. He took the only reasonable path.

And there's no point fighting for your job when both your bosses already threw you under the bus.

So who exactly was the independent party?

Shane and Brown are not independent parties.

If they paid a law firm for this investigation then, at the very least...that relationship and payment is subject to open record laws.

It's not complicated. If they conducted an actual investigation, there would be a final report issued and dated and placed in their system.

If they conducted an independent investigation, like Brown said they did, there is an unnamed third party involved who needs to be identified - that is what an independent investigation is.

They said it's done, but they need more time to release it due to COVID and other requests- anyone dumb enough to buy that? Who's running the investigation, Garrison and Heather??

The problem is the paid a half million dollars to someone who supposedly had no right to be employed by a State University and forgot they are expected to answer for why they felt that is deemed acceptable.

IF he was in the right, and got fired, getting a lawyer and filing a wrongful termination lawsuit would have been the way to go.

If you are innocent of something, your name is being smeared, your life will not be the same, you would prefer not to fight to restore it and get what's fully owed to you? I know what I'd do........fight it.

But if he did nothing, like many of you suggest, then he had options to prove his innocence. He chose not to. Not sure why you guys are full of hate about this. He is the one that took the money and ran.

Yes, mine was to refuse the buyout, force WVU to fire him, then get a lawyer. That isn't a "theory". That's an opinion. If I'm innocent, being accused of something that I didn't do, then I'm fighting for my name.
