Many of the ones on here criticizing Pope were more than willing to have Cal back coaching extremely talented teams to first round losses in the SEC and NCAA tournaments.

I don’t know if this is the worst team he will have, that is yet to be seen. Not sure freshman can star in the SEC anymore unless you pull a stud. I’m not sure how good our freshman will be anyways.

Pope overachieved with a limited roster, but the blueprint is out on this team. Doesn't help that every team in the SEC is a bubble team or better.
And yet, before tonight's game, Arkansas was one of the worst teams in the sec standings, am I right?
I hate it so bad that Cal beat us but it is what it is. If Pope is going to stick with a man to man defense, Arkansas is a really bad match up for us.
Hopefully, you’re right, but don’t we have the most experienced team in college basketball … four 1000-point scorers and the most total starts in the country ??

OP, I hope you're right. But I don't trust the UK NIL situation. We're not going to win shizz if we don't overpay for elite portal players. UK wasn't willing to pay Lanier premium money, and that type of recruitment needs to change in the future.
Yeah, we will see. I like Pope but tonight really put a damper on a lot things this year. Just can't keep losing to these mediocre teams. We will probably be one and done again. We are prime for a 4-13, 5-12 upset.
Yall keep repeating this but I’m afraid you’re in for a bad surprise. We lose basically every real contributor off this team except possibly Oweh and they’re replaced by 3 above average freshmen. He is going to have to pull a minor miracle in the portal to make next years team more talented than this one.

You are acting like you are upset about the loss, but you are really glad that Arkansas won. You have been a Pope hater since they day you heard he was hired. You are not alone; there are several others on here playing your game.
Yeah but there’s a reason most of these players have never played for a high level team before this year. There are just not that athletic.
Pope has some qualities but he is missed the game preparation tonight.

Our freshmen next year will be better than this years but still not good enough to be major factors. If more than 1 starts then we are in trouble.

Pope has to get a mean streak about him, he just does. Calipari can make **** personal and win, pope has to get that mean streak in him. And I don’t care what anyone says, you gotta have players who can win their matchups and get by their man, the offense can only scheme so much.
We also need some tougher players. This is the softest bunch I have ever seen.
Yeah it’s not great. I honestly don’t know what’s gonna happen these last 10 games. They had a chance to get a good seed and it feel like that ain’t happening anymore

I don't think he intends to have just a team of freshmen. You are confusing him with another coach.

Of all the guys this year, Lamont Butler is probably the best pickup for this team. Went to a final four last year with san diego st.
