This isn't PG U. It's PG Injury U.

Matt Jones just said he could return by Jan.3 (start of SEC play) but that a return for the Louisville game is “on the table.” No idea how both of those prescriptions can be reconciled. 🤔
That makes no sense at all. It’s either a typical six week recovery or he needs surgery. I don’t see how he could possibly be back in a couple weeks.

He's a lefty so it shouldn't affect his shot (except non dominant layups) much if he does come back.

Hopefully we can have some bigger pgs come through. Some with a little size to help protect against the physical sec. Lowe seems super thin. Need a muscled up pg like Bledsoe who can take contact.

Nope. NO slings and stabilizers. If he comes back teams will target his shoulder, especially in the SEC.

Get him healed up. Properly.

Thank God we have a coach that can navigate around injuries now vs one that just says haven’t seen them and will just rotate players that make no sense and scream all game.

damn, this happened to the position we are least deep at. Going into B W game I thought the tea leaves said Aberdeen was back up. But I thought JJ looked the smoother at the point. Hmmm. It makes Pope have to think. Do I start a strong defender like Aberdeen or shoot first smoother JJ. Now that I write this I think he'll go with Defense as the starter but bring JJ in soon after the tip off.

Could've been playing a pick-up game and had an injury. Think we'll be fine and he'll be ready when we really need him, if not I think we got enough capable players, to get it done

Quit playing the blue white games. They are not necessary
Ahh come on. This could have happened at any practice.

What next? They shouldn't practice? Shouldn't have exhibition games? Maybe we should rest guys during the season as well so they don't get hurt before March?

Injuries happen. They are unfornuate and they stink but it's just part of it.

We are better at one thing than any other sports program on the planet. Nobody comes close to our knee jerks….

Injuries happen. Always have. Always will so long as the game is played. Cancelling blue white games. Changing practices. None of that will change a thing. Some years back we had that kid re-injure an ACL in the locker room. What are we supposed to do? Make them dress in the hall? (Before anyone wigs out, that was sarcasm)

The answer is depth and good luck, with luck being the biggest factor. Sometimes ours isn’t great.

I have always been under the opinion that injuries were somewhat related to strength and conditioning. With all the transfers and swapping, I expect such work is not up to the standards of what we saw with multi-year players. You don’t condition a body in a few months.

you gotta be able to manage your team. Knowing when to risk injury but substitute to prevent it.....

Some of these point guards play like its the final four or something in exhibition play.

Keeping Oweh healthy will be crucial. If we are ever playing a team, that somehow outperforms us. Oweh is the type of player that is game changing. I believe that. Im not saying he should not start... but there is a grain of truth in keeping your best players off the court when the opponent is not quite worn down by the game play. Platoon man, even noah deserves some playing time. He's gonna have some good shooting games from 3.

If, and when, Lowe is out … I just hope our back-up PGs are adept ball-handlers who can confidently handle serious on-ball defensive pressure. We’ll see …
OT: Kriisa had 15 points in the Cincy win over #10 Michigan on Saturday.
