It isn't worth it. Usually isn't on any subject.

When doc can't answer he deflects. I will say that he at least offers intelligent responses most of the time even if they are hate filled and intolerant. As for you and Country, keep up the cheerleading, thats about all you have to offer.

Trump yearns for legitimacy in the golf world. Money doesn't necessarily buy influence in the golf world (ask Bill Gates who was denied membership at Augusta National for years). The "stuffed shirts" do respect people who've accomplished something in the world of golf and respect those who've done something to help grow the game. Trump has done neither. He's simply bought some golf properties and built some new ones. But he's always been seen as cheesy. Someone who flaunts himself and forcing himself on the game. That turns the powers-that-be off. And always has. He lacks the proper decorum as far as they are concerned. When he bought Turnberry-a venerable landmark in golf history which has previously hosted 4 Open Championships including probably the greatest tournament of all time-the Duel in the Sun between Nicklaus and Watson, and immediately changed its name to Trump Turnberry, eyebrows were raised and many in the R&A were pissed. Of course he did the same thing with Doral in Miami. But Doral is no Turnberry. Trump's big mouth has cost him the Open. And I would not be surprised if the PGA Tour follows suit and takes away the Tour event at Doral in the future. Trump's influence in the world of golf has taken a serious hit. He was put up with because of his wallet. But his mouth has proven too much for the stuffshirts to stomach.

Why was Bill Gates denied membership?

Why was Bill Gates denied membership?

Members of the ANGC aren't interested in members (like Gates) with any kind of serious public persona.......said another way, the more famous a proposed member happens to be, the lesser the likelihood he'll be invited.

The irony is, the one's who lead the USGA are overwhelmingly Republican and those who lead the R&A are overwhelmingly in the Conservative party. None the less, the R&A have blackballed Trump. The European Tour, who is essentially an arm of the R&A, is a global tour. They have events in Malaysia, UAE, Qatar, Morocco, and Mauritius-all Muslim countries. We have our FedEx Cup. They have their Race to Dubai. And in case you don't know, Dubai is another Muslim country. And these events in Muslim countries are sponsored by....guess who.....Muslim owned corporations. So, those stuffed shirts aren't dumbasses. They are running a business. And as you wingnuts continually say, let the markets decide. The stuff shirts have decided. That ends you lesson in the business of golf. You're welcome.
Well Well Well, I guess golf's version of uncle tom has spoken. I consider myself educated.

Ok. I thought I addressed the past which he referred to and i recognized but disagreed with the assertion golf still embraces segregation. I guess i was not successful. And i had no intention of lambasting. Rather stated the comment was uninformed.
Fair enough.

I'll address RPJs comment as well. I understand Golf has changed drastically over the year and it is one of the few gentlemen's games left. I respect the game, what it does, and it's rich traditions. I don't personally play anymore because that would be one too many hobbies for me and now that my kids are getting into playing sports, their time is more important to me.

I
No....but I am still scratching it. Whats the significance of the caddy being Scottish?[/QUOTE
I got grouped with a Scottish guy at a course near DC one time. It was a blast.

We did the introductions and he had a heavy accent "Aye, name's Shoon"(or however you'd type out the name Sean in a Scottish accent)

I said, "oh, so you're Italian"
"Aye laddy, loooks like ya got a bit of Celtic in ya yourself"

"oh no, loooks like yur in tha boonker"

It was like I was playing with Shivas Irons.
I once had a Scottish dental tech..she says..I'm gonna put this in ya muth..I said..come again?
