Still think Texas is going to make a deep run this year?WVU becoming a basketball school.Truthfully think they have potential under Huggins to win a NC as one.

Should be a good year for WVU on the court. The Big 12 is not what it used to be with a big drop off from team 4 to team 5 this year. Anything can happen, but WVU should be heavily favored in 4 games against KSU and ISU. Same, but to a lesser degree for home tilts against OSU, OU, and Texas. Very winnable games at UT, OU, and TCU. Tough games left include Baylor x2, home vs KU, and @TTU. I think WVU can reasonably get 10 more wins with that slate barring injury and less than 7 would be underperforming.
I could see Texas as a 1 or a 2. Home games till you go to New York. Could be a deep run for you guys in the NIT this year. Your OC is too weak for you to make the dance with less than 10 wins in the league this year. I just don't see Texas getting to 10 wins this year.Matters the bracket like I have always said.
That matters with pretty much any team. Just more important when you aren't a #1 or #2 seed.
At the top it isn't.
Plus defensively the conference is much better than I have ever seen it.
Those Big East games weren't important and truthfully the Big 12 would love the Big East to be back where it should be.
No reason for the B1G or ACC to be a Northeast Conference.

We had a line on a football NC and basketball NC within 3 years of each other. We didn't get it done.
If you want to build a legacy program its opportunities like those that you cant let slip.
....our best players got hurt in both games, what are the odds.
Somewhere there is an alternative universe where WVU pulled through.
Homer take with no facts to support it in bold above. I would have loved for tOSU to have played WVU instead of LSU, a great team when it finally got healthy, as WVU wouldn't have been able to stop Beanie Wells, just like it couldn't stop Shady McCoy, and Pat White, unlike Matt Flynn, was incapable of throwing the ball down the field with accuracy. Of course, this is all speculation, as we know what happened, and if ifs and buts were candy and nuts....Ultimately the football debacle was on the coach as it was clearly the superior team and was definitely superior to Ohio State or Missouri that year had WVU made the championship game. The basketball team was good, but an upstart. Duke was at least as good, but in my opinion a better, of a team compared to WVU. Hence even if coached and played to perfection, WVU could still lose to Duke. No way if WVU plays to its potential on the gridiron in 2007 in the Brawl and post season does WVU not take home the hardware
Not sure there are any complete teams this year. But being a top 10 or even a top 5 team in Mid January is not a bad place to be. A lot better than being a bubble team for NIT.They have to match your size.
Their guards can cause issues but to beat WVU you need to put athletic bigs on the court that can establish the paint.
Very few teams can.
But WVU isn't a complete team yet.

We will see.But only team you can say that about in the Big 12 is Baylor. They should be undefeated if they didn't have issues in Alaska.
The rest have things to figure out.
Ohio State really thought they were good before they played you.
Teams that can match up in the paint have the advantage because in most cases they are stronger on the perimeter.
Huggins is trying to build his team to match KU.
Matters how much Oscar and Culver develop by the end of the year. I don't think they can get better than the bigs for Kansas.
Plus Baylor looks better than both.
We will see.
The difference is the improvements of each team. Baylor and Kansas started the year as elite teams. WVU has gotten a lot better week to week as these players meld into a cohesive unit. They are already the best defensive team in the country. Where will they be in March? Remember a couple of months ago you said Culver could not guard on the perimeter? He is guarding guards out there. You have established that you really do not know much about basketball. Enjoy Texas's deep run in the NIT if you make it in.But only team you can say that about in the Big 12 is Baylor. They should be undefeated if they didn't have issues in Alaska.

Last year's season fell to pieces at K State.
K State is hungry and needs a win. They started conference play down last year and then made their comeback on WVU.
TVZ with the correct call
WVU now has a 2 game win streak over TCU and Texas Tech.
Last year beat TCU 104-96 (3OT)
Big 12 playoffs beat Texas Tech 79-74
The Tech win on March 14, 2019 gave us our 14th win of the season.
This year our 14th win came against TCU January 14th, 2020.

The only ranking that matters is the NCAA and they have us in the top 8. Kenpom is #4 and RPI is #1. Almost everyone has WVU as a 1 or a 2. No one has UT in the dance.[/QUO
well that changed quickly
NCAA has us at 9th. At least we did not lose at home to Stephan F. Austin.WVU is good. Not top 8 good but good. If I had a vote WVU would be 12-16 IMO.
Dancing is all I care about.
