I have been quite critical of Stoops and definitely wanted Petrino when we hired Stoops. After the Southern Miss meltdown and the Florida beat down I too was ticked. I was miffed that we gave up 40 some points to New Mexico State. That said our team is getting better. I'm not saying that it's where I want it to be right now, but from game 1 to game 6 there has been improvement. We have also won 3 of 4 including 2 games in conference which is no small feat. You can keep griping about the year 4 progress, that's fair, but don't gripe about beating Vandy. We won. No complaints about a game we won imo. Also cut the team some slack. We are younger than we have been since Stoops first year due to graduating Jucos and some dismissals. If the team gets to 5 or 6 wins, Stoops will be back and we honestly will have a pretty good outlook for 2017 where we could go out and get 8 wins.

In 2017 we have the majority of our tough games at home. I don't know why people think that getting beat by UT, Florida, Ole Miss, UofL at home is better than getting beat by them on the road. Going to lose either way. Give me USCjr, Vandy, Miss. St. at home along with our three should be cupcakes and you should win more.

I agree on Vandy. Never look a gift horse in the mouth. A WIN is a WIN, and we need to learn to appreciate every one of them. We haven't had that many in the last 50 years.

It's just a myth UK fans like to perpetrate "Wait til next year, we can win 7-8" when they do not even analyze the schedule. I agree with you, UK is not beating any of those 4 teams you listed at home. The swing games are on the road. We also play at Southern Miss, who I'm sure we can find a way to lose to again potentially. I just don't see what so many are trying to sell. Yes the D is better, but let's see how good they are at the end of the year after facing somemore consistent offenses that have better talent. Plus, not sure why everyone is so excited over beating SC and Vandy when most predicted that before the season. Stoops is 0-2 in games I figured we'd lose and 3-1 in games we had to have...the problem is we now have to win 3/4 in the remaining games we have to have to make a bowl IMO.

I respect your candor and analysis but I am afraid that were looking at fools gold. If we win the next three games, I can agree with your analysis.

Starting that rosy outlook way too early. We'll be in the same situation next year. Fighting for 6 wins.

I agree we still need to get some work done this year, but Stoops just kept his job yeatserday whether we like it or not. I guessy point is since we have e him for another year and half we might as well root for him instead of against him. I also hate to see our fans piling on the team after a win. These guys (players) work hard and have not had too many wins to celebrate. I am not forecasting roses and unicorns farts in the future and I don't think Stoops is a great coach, but if he pulls this season together though he deserves some credit. Not a bug raise or contract extension, but at least another year of wait and see.
