There's a Mountaineer statue on the bank on the closed in of the stadium where the scoreboard is and the there is a fence and woods behind the fence they come down the bank though a fence gate and pat the statue kinda like Clemson when the come down the hill and pat their rock. Swain is also 8 time state champs they came through your conference several times on their way to the title we beat em 48 14 fri, 7 of the points we gave up were when the jvs were on the field, now what's up?
Hey Captain this is your typical 1A playoff matchup. After further research Mitchell will sting the Dogs. Remember though, Thomasville is big and fast. Thomasville went 8-4 two years in the past so momentum may be in place.

1. I’m not a Mitchell fan. Secondly did you happen to see the score of the swain and Mitchell game? I never said Mitchell would beat thomasville but I promise you this, if those thomasville boys get off that bus thinking that speed will carry them through to a win, it’ll be a long night. You have to be physical with a mountain team before you can rely on that speed to get you to the end zone. If Mitchell lives in your backfield all night, that speed isn’t going anywhere…

Swain is not the correct answer to my question which was how many does Mitchell have? And the correct answer is Zero! The kids will decide it Friday night so I look forward to the game and seeing who comes out on top. Winner moves on and the loser begins winter sports. Either way both teams have had fantastic seasons and will end them on a strong note battling. Best of luck to both, Go Dogs!

You have to remind us someone does every year. We have been a good luck charm for the state champions serval times the only team to come close to beating them always close but no cigar. To be fair Mitchell is a lot younger then lot schools Thomasville has had a football team 38 years longer lol.

Sorry I specifically googled Thomasville North Carolina knowing there is a Thomasville Georgia and it still popped up GA and I didn't notice they've had football since 1910 that's were the 65 years came from but according to Thomasville NC own website they've had football for 94 years starting in 1927
But I was just doing tongue and cheek , Mitchell been around long enough just haven't be able to pull it off and have had some bad luck but still haven't and maybe never will but they've given some champs a run for their money and made them earn the one they've got.
But just for historical context if you're referring to Robbinsville being only 60 years according to this site their first football team was in 1939 there's even a photo of them with their names. That's 82 years.

Just good fun , nothing but respect for most all the teams left. So many threads about bragging for your team and it’s pros and cons. I thought that’s what this website is for ? Besides, the kids deserve all the positive attention they get. Some of the kids playing football in our community never get a positive word said to them or about them !!!! Some guys go over board but I think they have the best of intentions and truly love their team and kids and will protect them to no end . That will wrap up my stump speech and since I’m from Robbinsville I don’t have anything to brag about . I can always go clean rings , I have 14 of those to keep up with. Good luck and safe travels to all that are left .
I did think the old photo of the 1939 Robbinsville team was pretty cool though. I just like history like that.
To me new school you start over... anything Bowman and Harris did as far as conference or something , Harris was like a state co-champion back in the early'60 but I don't count for Mitchell.
I would to have love to seen some games from 2000-2009 when the SMC was winning most of the 1A titles and Thomasville/Albemarle were ruling the 1AA title scene. Those would have been some great playoff games with no subdivision.8?

Thomasville beat MA in western finals in 2006. They were studs of 1A a long time.
Bulldogs will practice in 70 degree weather wedensday and Thursday here. Cold Friday night will be a factor for a speed team. I been to Mitchell it's miserable.
It's currently 32* with 20mph sustained wind lol. Game time forecast is 29*, dropping to 25* by 10pm.
Cold don’t bother these kids at all, most walk to school or ride buses. Getting on a bus at 6:15 am at 25 degrees doesn’t phase them. Trust me, #1 #12 # 5 #2 #3 is getting g ready to run all over the neers- you won’t stop them because you won’t figure out who has the ball until it’s too late. Prediction : Tville returns opening kick off -Stay in woods
