34 - 23 HS final. After HS got a read on Thornton speed, took control and wore them down with physical play.
that's a pretty accurate synopsis. After the first quarter, i was thinking thorton might run away with this...but hs made very good game adjustments.
South put it on them, 100% out adjusted them. Fun to see. You could see Thornton kind of let up after going down 17-7, wind went out of their sails. South out hit them on both sides of the ball.
West Suburban baby. Now it's up to GBW, HC and LT to "do your job" as Thibs used to say.

Curry had a wonderful game. The O-Line played out of their minds and mauled those dudes up front. Defense got after it after letting up an early score. Team victory.
And now you see the conundrum involving Thornton.
After five minutes of every game you could either be up by 14 or behind by 14.
Coaching staff this year has done a really good job.

After the way they behaved yesterday the entire staff would be fired. Cursing out cursing out the Hornet players, called Curry a B. Triggered the behavior of the players pregame spitting and more fbombs and so many other things said that just embarrassed me. I was honestly ashamed that these guys lead children

Posting a team photo with the caption "How did HS win conference with a 6-3 record? Somn ain't right." Is not too smart. Sure fire way to motivate your opponent to show you how.
And what, 5-6 personal fouls with coaches only response being to complain to refs? Not good.
Coaching is more than X's & O's or wins and loses, it's also about building character in the young men that are under your guidance. To allow your team to rush the fence and act like animals cursing and spitting at the HS players as they entered the stadium. Check out the tweet from Thornton fan Prince Charmin (like the toilet paper) he was good enough

I don't know a lot of coaches that would allow their team to rush the fence and curse, spit and scream at the HS players walk by to enter the stadium. Check out the tweet from Thornton fan Prince Charmin (like the toilet paper) as he videod some of the episode before the game. If it was a ploy to intimidate the HS players....I'd say it backfired big time. Proud of how the HS players and coaches handle themselves. Game was not as close as final score.
Lol, wow, I just watched that video. That deserves a "C'mon Man". Here's the link if you haven't seen it, looks like something out of a movie. Act like you've been there before?????
Thornton coaches should be coached by coach at Shepard, or better yet, fired. HS is a good team and classy. I hope they go far.
Particularly, since Thornton got pounded physically. Deep down inside I think they know their mouths wrote a check their buts couldn't cash, and should have kept their mouths closed.
Good win by HS, that kind of behavior starts at the top, hopefully the kids at Thornton learn something from this. Talk is cheap.
The parent who recorded that video seemed pleased and proud of the Thornton players. Where were the Thornton coaches? Look, it's the responsibility of the parents and coaches to develop the kids into repectable, respecting adults. They're failing. People in that community should be ashamed. Please, let's not have anyone talk about the proud tradition that is Thornton football. And good win by HS!
Believe it or not, the Thornton Coaches were the ring leaders. What you see on the video was a pregame walk of the field (notice no pads on). This was nothing compared to how they acted when HS came back out of the locker room for the actual game.Complete insanity.
Proud of how South kids handled the situation. I am sure they knew that under no circumstances would the coaches tolerate any embarrassing behavior.
You have to love the disapline by HS. There is no place for that kind of behavior from Thorton. The coaches are doing those kids a disservice in allowing that poor sportsmanship.
Great to see HS whoop them and stay composed. Two programs going different directions that's for sure.
If HS did this imagine the outcry and probable race issues including hate crime and 24/7 news
Old fan, I don't think this is a racial issue. Do you realize that at least half (if not more) of the HS players are black? I think this is just how Thornton football program operates. Disgusting yes. Racial no. In fact, I think a similar situation escalated to a brawl with one of their neighboring schools that responded inkind. So lets not twist this into something it's not.

I doubt he had his Twitter account suspended, I would guess he deleted it to try to avoid the repercussions.
I wouldn't say the school make up has as much as the makeup of the football team. However, is was clear that the taunt were directed at the HS football team.
