Tre needs to lock down Coby White and everyone else play better interior D
Tre Locked down Coby last game, he wasn’t a factor. Maye, Johnson and UNC’s bench was the deciding factor. When UNC wasn’t scoring they were defending.
K is gonna have to shake it up and rotate quickly and not be afraid to switch out the front court. IMO, the second person coming off the bench to guard Johnson should be Baker. If ever was a reason to show why he lifted his redshirt bows the time to show it.
He matches up well with Johnson and allows White to stay in the front court to spell Javin and Bolden.

When do ya’ll think it will be announced if Zion will or won’t play? It wasn’t announced that he wasn’t going to play against Wake Forest until early in the day of the game. Will it be announced on Friday or will it be announced on Saturday?

I really don't understand why most here expect another blow out, the Cheats got stupidly lucky with Z's injury in the first game, Johnson and Maye had career nights and we shot 8-39 from deep. The odds of everything going the Heels way Saturday? I imagine It's pretty low. Alex, Bolden, and White are playing much better now, Tre seems to be rounding back into form, RJ is RJ and Cam loves big games. With or without Zion, Duke is winning Saturday. Just gotta keep them off the glass, drive the ball inside ( 40 three point attempts is a big no no) and not turn it over (we had 20 in the first game).

Unc didn’t shoot well form 3 either in that game, without z on offense and defense well just take a massive hit

The only thing with White the first game was his offense and Alex his defense. Still both are raw and Bolden will be coming off an injury after the Wake game.
It won’t be a blow out but it’s a game right now favoring UNC.

I just have a feeling we are about to come out shooting 3s. Drive and kick. Shoot about 45 threes and see what happens. Might as well. We have nothing to lose if Zion isn't playing. I also think he should let Cam do a lot of ball handling this game just to get his confidence up. Take some pressure off RJ because he has a long month ahead.

You can’t compare the first game to this one. We were mentally smacked in the mouth and completely unprepared. It would of taken a God-sent miracle to overcome that. No senior leadership + trashed gameplan / matchup study is a recipe for disaster. I pride myself on being a realistic fan but I never expect to lose. That being said, our backs are against the wall. There is no room for error or off-night peformance.

A roleplayer (Jack, AOC, whoever) has to step up offensively and contribute. They will be locked in on RJ/Cam, guaranteed. This will probably weaken the defensive pressure on the others... They HAVE to hit their shots and RJ/Cam have to grant them the opportunity and not force shots. Defensively, I think we will limit the perimeter scoring but we can’t do it at the cost of allowing 66% on 2PA which is the storyline of the last game. We HAVE HAVE HAVE HAVE HAVE to go up strong for rebounds and BOX OUT.

Even if we are lucky and Zion plays, it won’t be pre-injury minutes. If he isn’t in street clothes, we’ll be blessed to see 20 minutes.

Well, I just don't see any any scenario quite like the first game. I mean, Zion blowing a shoe in the first 30+ seconds, Duke becoming totally unglued (a big part I think do to that), let Luke Maye pull off his best imitation of Larry Bird, played almost no defense whatsoever, etc.
This team plays better on the road it seems, and this group is pretty tough minded so I think they won't let what happened in Cameron affect their play, rather it will motivate them to whip the Heels on senior night.

As I said earlier, I'm not as optimist as I once was on beating the Heels at the Dome, but I still feel this team has a toughness about them that will allow us to have a good chance of winning this game without Zion.
UNC will not look as good as they did in Cameron and Duke will not look as bad, that I can almost guarantee. K will have our guys ready for this game. Go Blue Devils, kick some Tar Heel azz!

Cam should not be doing any ball handling. The defense will collapse on him and he will dribble it off his foot or get a charge. UNC will be happy to leave Tre alone in the corner and play 5 on 4. Tre needs to work hard on offense and get into the paint. This is why I've always wanted him to get a breather because he puts so much effort on the defensive end and tends to coast on offense.

Gotta shoot like we did in 2001 when Boozer was out.

Dress Zion & have him warm up whether he's playing or not, play with UNC heads.

Laettner I like your reference to '01, and I must say I LOVE the idea of Z at least dressing out, warming up. K has a news conference early this afternoon so we should learn more.

I have to say I would love to hear him say Zion is doubtful with this scenario playing out: As mentioned he warms up, and comes to the scorers table about 5-10 minutes into the game......Mess w/Roy and Cheat players heads....

Great point. Don’t know how anyone that has seen Cam play would suggest we have him doing any of our main ball handling. We need Cam to score and rebound.

This situation takes me back awhile, 10 - 15 years. But I remember we were coming into the final game against UNCheat, and our big, Carlos or the Landlord, was out. K came up with a special defense, some kind of full court pressure, that Ole Roy, was not expecting, and we won the game in a big upset. I am hoping for deja vu all over again.

Yes. That was 01 with Boozer. Situation did not look good. K rolled up his sleeves and threw a wrinkle and it paid off from there on.
Someone should tell K that Roy has been sharper than him lately. He did the same to NC State a few years ago when they had Kat Barber as their point guard. Ran a 3/4 press and took the ball out of his hands. Beat them like a rented drum.

Honestly, K hasn’t been the K we need. Time for him to have a plan and show everyone why he’s the best.
