I’d like to see Kam join this list as the year goes along. If we could get a breakout year from him we’re gonna be maybe the favorites.

I walked through the Joe Gatton student center last tuesday and saw Lowe and Quaintance sitting at a fast food kiosk and it wasn't until I was in my car that I realized how poor a detective I had been . I hadn't even looked to see if he was in regular shoes or boot, it wouldn't have been any trouble to go up and say hey and ask if he felt like he was gonna play in November or January. He could have blown me off or I could have gotten a scoop. The thing I noticed in the walk by was Lowe looked soft-baby-faced and not very big. And Q had a basketball and was spinning it on his finger like a Harlem Globetrotter. True. I guess it's a good sign that he's carrying the rock everywhere to not lose the feel of the game.

They say in this article that Quaintance will be sitting out most of the non conference and while I agree that’s a possibility nobody has said that. These journalists pedal too much false information as fact like they have some inside information.
It's lazy journalism. I mean if Quaintance averages a double double and leads the nation in blocks, why wouldn't he be a strong candidate for NPOY?

Quotes from Pope:
  • “I have every expectation that he’ll play this season, I don’t think he’s going to play all the games this season, but we’ll see."
  • When asked if he might be on the court by the end of November, the UK coach didn’t commit. “Maybe-ish. This one’s hard."

Common sense, just from looking at recovery timelines from other athletes, is that he isn't going to be ready day 1. Pope is saying he'll miss games, and he "maybe-ish" could be back by end of November. If he doesn't play in November, he'll have missed over half of the non-conference games.

Man. I’m cool if JQ sits out til December 1. That’ll give him 9-10 months past the surgery. Ease him back in and he’ll be a dawg by the last part of the year. But we need one of BG. Jelevic. Moreno to step up and be a FF caliber C for 12-13 games.

It’s a guess not common sense there is a difference and that’s my entire point. In which of the two quotes you posted did Pope give any concrete information? All of those words and he didn’t say anything. You can do all of the extrapolating you want but just like the person who wrote the article you don’t know.
