Speaking of the "Power K" ..... Have you noticed how the marching band announcer doesn't announce the Power K any more, when the band marches down the field with it? What's up with that??? I'd hate to think it has been nixed because of the desire to sell swag with the new logo. Just a thought ......

The Power K would raise the level of excitement for the game.. it sounds silly but I believe it would generate a better environment for MissSt

I'm getting fired up thinking about it

Power K is a thing but I much prefer the the state outline with the cat head in it. Heres an image from 2004's throwbacks

Probably my favorite uniform that we've ever worn. Maybe shrink the front number a little and put Kentucky across the chest with a UK on the other side of the helmet (for branding since NiKE would force it) and that would be a nice classic permanent Uni like the majority of the SEC has.

Playing in leather helmets & no face masks & high top cleats would be really swell. Even no names & numbers. And a live wildcat on the sidelines. With 15 man roster playing both ways. No TV timeouts or replays & no loud speaker music to boot. Grass field even. Better yet, plenty of rain to make the field slippery & muddy.

Ah, the good ole days!

I would love to see the throwbacks for the Mississippi State game as the '76 Co-SEC championship team will be having our 40th reunion.

This. And I also hope to hell 1977 throwbacks are worn next season to honor the 40th anniversary of the 10-1 season. Seems obvious to many, but I seriously doubt if it has occurred to UKAA. IMO

The last time we wore throw backs we got beat by Ohio and they were auctioned off. I say keep the new swag based on past experience

Somebody explain the love for the power K. From 75 to 96 UK was like 101-130-5 with 4 (2-2) bowl appearances. Lot of tradition to be proud of. There is probably a reason they weren't kept on the helmet. Just don't see the love affair or the "excitement" it would bring. Old school looks are pointless without the tradition and history to back it up.

HOW ABOUT A LIL TEAR AWAY ACTION LIKE RAMSEY! I still remember him streaking (almost literally) down the sidelines with the shirt just dangling by a thread.

We have no winning tradition, so one uniform is as good as the other. I like the Power K uniforms (including the helmet) because it was sharper and it was (and still could be) distinctively "Kentucky"....just like the Nebraska N, Wisconsin W, and the Tennessee T. You can see it from a mile away. The uniform back then was a darker "Kentucky" blue.....not the lighter shade of royal "blueberry" we used recently (although this year looks darker). The UK by comparison looks like a spider or something from a distance and looks a lot like the Buffalo helmet, houston helmet, etc. Finally it harkens a back to a day when, although we didn't win much, we were known for hitting....especially on D. When we became "mummified" and started playing finesse basketball on grass, we surrendered any "respect" we had for at least playing tough FB. Mumme brought the U to our helmets and took the hitting out of our FB and have never liked the change. OBTW...image below is from the last game we beat Florida.

Both of those throwbacks are friggin awesome. I'm too young to remember either of them, but I wouldn't mind to see both make an appearance every year or so.

The "Throwbacks" that never existed before that game. The entire point of a throwback uniform is to replicate an actual uniform from the past.

I think the white version with the State and cat head did exist (see pic by on-on-UK), but the blue State/cat head version in which we lost to Ohio U a few years ago was not previously worn by a UK team to my knowledge. I agree with you....throw backs should be actual past uniform styles.
