I don't think it's an automatic technical. It is up to the referee's discretion. Is it a technical foul for throwing ball into the stands? In this case wouldn't have mattered if it was two shots with no time. Probably delay of game but no time was left so no call?
Sorry wrong board
We're sometimes better hitting the fans because they are always open. Not so much our receivers. Another decision for coach Kill. Our QB's throw the ball into the stands all the time with no flag.
Luckily, Tim Higgins was officiating the game, and he left the court just before the buzzer sounded.
Definitely applies to quarters #1 & 4.On the other hand, depending on what quarter of the game we're in, there may be more receivers in the pattern than fans in the end zone seats.
Game was already over no big deal therewe knocked the Illini out of the NCAAs from what the announcer said...he was a former Illini player
Ive seen a few throw the ball into the stands ...but ive never seen a technical
Besides...its a good no call.........its a 1 shot foul isnt it?
Luckily, Tim Higgins was officiating the game, and he left the court just before the buzzer sounded.
Scarlet Jerry
because baseballs are small enough to hide...Why are you allowed to keep baseballs, but other balls you have to give back?
