The arrests follow Thursday’s arrests of 33 members of a drug ring that imported oxycodone from Michigan to Morgantown. The Friday arrests stem from the same investigation.
The Thursday arrests were the result of a 129-count indictment handed down by a federal grand jury in West Virginia. Ten of those indicted are from Michigan, the rest from north and central West Virginia. All face charges including aiding and abetting, distribution of oxycodone, distribution of oxycodone and maintaining a drug-involved premise.
The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area funded this initiative that lasted years. According to U.S. Marshall Gary Gaskins, they are still working to arrest more.
