I didn't watch the game but I was looking at the score at the top when watching Duke versus Arizona. For those who watched the Arkansas game did Calipari just milk the clock like he did here when we would get a big leads in games and totally collapse down the stretch?
He went 1-4 isolation with DJ at the end of regulation and also at the end of overtime. Wagner missed both shots. Both shots were heavily contested and well defended.

Basically yeah, couple stupid turnovers, still up 7 with a minute left and gave up an open 3, 2 crucial missed FT’s, and gave up a 3 with 10 seconds left instead of fouling. Didn’t get a good play for the win like always.

In the Championship Game of 2008, Memphis was up by NINE to Kansas with 1 minute, 58 seconds to go, yet somehow went to OT and lost…
I missed what the announcers said at that point. I’m guessing maybe they got confused and said something misleading since there seems to be a lot of confusion about it, but the graphic on the screen pretty clearly indicated that the 35-0 was if his halftime lead was 6+ points, not necessarily a 6 point lead at any time in the game.

Good things were happening when Davis would drive the lane. He's twice the offensive player that DJ is. But Calipari was already reading the press clippings before the game was over about how he was going to let DJ, the son of former protege Dajuan, be the hero.

It's amazing that colleges are still willing to pay premium dollar for his jackass coaching.

I think Davis might of got tired at the end. He seemed like his legs were going on him.

I found one guy on hogville who gets it already,

Cal is 35-1 while leading at half now. Should've called a timeout with 5.6 seconds left after Dj crossed the halfcourt. Expected nothing less from Cal the great X's n O's guru. Keep gettin those top players buddy. We gotta have 9 nba 1st rounders just to make the elite 8 with Cals elite coaching style.

for the most part but the thing that lead from a 13 pt lead with like 4 minutes to go to them losing was instead of using up 30 seconds on 2 different trips Arkansas took super quick 3's and bricked them. If they take up the whole 60 seconds with those 2 possessions, the game is over before Tech can make the come back.

Cal on the lack of TO at the end: "In my career, that's what I do..."

2015: Up 4 under 5 minutes left against Wisconsin, lost by 7.
2016: Game tied with 8 minutes left. IU runs away down the stretch and wins by 6.
2017: Up 5 with about 5 minutes against UNC, lost by 2.
2018: Kansas State abomination. Up 55-54 with 4 minutes left. Lost by 3.
2019: Gave up big early lead. Did well to comeback and get the game to overtime against Auburn. Lost by 6 in OT.
2022: Up 6 with a little over 3 minutes left. Lost by 6 in OT to Saint Peters.
2023: Up 4 with 4 minutes left against Kansas State. Lost by 6.
2024: Were losing for almost the entire game against Oakland.

The Auburn one was hard to take. You posted came back to tie and force OT. What you failed to mention was tied it and then had the ball for the last shot to win it in regulation but missed it plus another shot after a rebound.

Never forget it because had the shot been made I’d have hit the exact score in Old Red’s game and of course Cat’s in Final Four. Oh Well. Cal is a Hog now so it’s all good.

In fairness that was a GREAT Oakland team. Probably their best ever.

It would've/should've been a first round exit had Kansas not out collapsed Cal. Then he ran into a literally perfect matchup.

This was another perfect matchup but he blew it like he did many times here.

Maybe next year!

I think I will root against Cal so long as he still has the UK players he took to Arky when he bolted. You can run. But, when you scorch earth run, you are not a friend. I know it is the nature of the game today. That is why I will be good with goofy Cal when he no longer has a UK player on his team.

He got off a pretty good shot at the end of OT. Just came up short.

I was thinking as I watched it all transpire, “if Cal gives the ball to Davis, they win.” Both times, he gave the ball to Wagner, and they lost. Typical Cal. Can’t draw up a winning play to save his life. Doesn’t have a clue who to give the ball to in a win or go home situation.

Now as long as Duke loses, this has been a pretty good tournament.

Anybody but Duke cuts down the nets and I can smile the rest of the year.

I watched it thinking the bigger issue was the fact it came down to Wagner having to make plays at all.

Like what in the world were they doing the last 4 mins of regulation in that game. Dumb shot after dumb shot.
