Anybody else catch this article? I kind of like this idea - and off the top, I can't think of any downside. Am I missing something?

The level of tap out seen by some teams in the prep bowl playoffs would be even worse in this.

Everyone gets a trophy.
How about working hard to get in and learning a lesson if you don't? That's COACHES and players.
That is just more kids not getting into wrestling and basketball season until later. I'm pretty sure most ADs would be put in a bind because of this.
I think it is a bad idea for lots of reasons.

Its not every kid getting a trophy, its more about keeping the games at the end of the season relevant and getting more kids involved into the post season, comparable to what every other sport does..
