So as not to hijack another thread --

Who, besides the below 3 groups, believes Notre Dame is, right now, "Tight End U"?
1. The folks in the ND bookstore who sell "ND is TE U" t-shirts,
2. ND blogs and fan sites,
3. Midwesterners.

The reason I ask is that, nationally, Miami is acknowledged as TE U, with ND often mentioned as one of the strong runner-ups.

In the last 10 years each school has had 6 TE's drafted.

By round
ND- 2, 1, 2, 2, 2, 5 Avg pick 58.5

Miami- 3, 1, 3, 6, 3, 7 Avg pick 116

I think the numbers clearly slant towards ND.

Its a tie between Miami and ND. ND has had more TEs drafted in the last 15 yrs. but Miami has had more impact TEs. Next time I'm in South Bend I'm buying one of those TE-U shirts, though.

I guess I'm hanging with the wrong people, because I have never heard anyone refer to either school as tight end U. Who talks like that? Would they say "I'm going to the tight end U game against Navy next week"?

Primarily college coaches when recruiting high school kids who dream of playing in the NFL, but also the fan-bases supporting said coaches.
