Forgive me that I have never heard of him as I am a bit younger but I just saw a post from Darren Rovell about prospects from 25 years ago. Ahman Green was on this list as well. Why did he choose Notre Dame over Nebraska? Was he too tall (6’8) to for our offensive scheme back then?

I know the Ridder from West Point. Are they related? I think Dave Ridder was involved in that play against Penn State when the receiver caught the ball 5 yards out of bounds and the play stood.

Dave Ridder was called for a phantom personal foul on the kickoff prior to Penn State's final possession. I guess the PSU Booster Club members who were officiating the game figured if they spotted the Lions 15 yards right off the bat, they wouldn't have to make as many horrifyingly crooked calls to get them the winning TD.

Yep, this.
A forgotten call but just as terrible as the "catches".

Yes, Tim is a West Point Ridder, although he didn't grow up there (his dad did). Great family -- his father was a respected educator in Nebraska and Colorado.

He just chose ND, I believe he was top 25 overall player that year one of best in Nebraska we didnt get, along with Larry Station.
