To be fair, the Pens appear to be living in the past because the previous GM tied them to some unfortunate contracts. They actually have acquired some decent talent in the pipeline and though it’s a long climb back up, I believe they’ve already started that process.
The Steelers current version of ownership IMO is the entity that is stuck in the past. They’re the epitome of “loyal to a fault” and seemingly prefer the stability of Tomlin’s non-losing streak (mediocrity) to taking the uncomfortable steps backwards to set themselves up for future success. Honestly, a 4-5 win season is the best thing that could happen to them heading into a QB heavy draft next spring. I hope the OP is on to something and they enter next year with a new sideline boss.
I'm not blaming Dubas--when he arrived it was a mess. Sid has to take a lot of blame for that with his demands of keeping Letang and Geno.

The Steelers, Pirates, and Pens all suck. Don't forget the pitters. They are worse than the 3 pro teams. The pitters lost to Toledo in a bowl game last season and lost their last 7 games in a row. This year they just lost to a team that got beat by Ohio University the week before. Pittsburgh might have the worst sports teams in the country.
Dubas also traded for Karlsson so I wouldn’t say he has no blame for the Pens situation.

Sid definitely has hurt the team with his demands. Amazing player. Thrilled I got to watch his career as a Pen but he should never be making decisions.
The franchise and much of the fanbase still seems to be content with the "we've won six Super Bowls" brag, the last one being SEVENTEEN years ago. At least it's not as bad as the Cowboys. I know Steelers fans who, when you tell them the Steelers don't look very good, come back with "yeah, but we've won six Super Bowls!!" For sure the front office needs to decide what their acceptable level of success is. A winning season?? Making the playoffs?? Winning in the playoffs?? They're now tied with the Dolphins for the current active playoff losing streak - six.

Drastic changes are needed in every Pittsburgh team. The Pirates either need a sugar daddy owner who is willing to dump loads of his own money into the team or else the Pirates should move to another city. The Pittsburgh market can no longer support a major league baseball team. The Pens need to enter rebuilding mode. They need to dump Crosby, Malkin, and Letang and commit to younger talent. The Steelers need to dump Tomlin and rebuild like the Pens.
The pitt football team needs to face the fact that they can't compete with the big boys. They don't have a stadium. They have minimal fan support. They have no NIL money. They need to move down to a league like the MAC or Patriot's League and walk away from their past, which isn't too great anyway.
This loss was as predictable as the sun rising. A cornerstone of Tomlin Stillers teams are horrible inconsistency, losing to weak teams and playing ridiculously bad in the playoffs versus teams they are completely overmatched against.
Yesterday was the first step on the inconsistency train. We will certainly lose to a really bad team this year because that is what the Stillers do. Of course we will lurch to 9 wins and then get blown out in the first round as the 7th seed in the AFC playoffs.

Browning also had three INTs. They’re going nowhere with him at QB. If they make a move for a real QB, that’s a different story. But as it is, they’re screwed. They won last week in the last minute against the Jaguars. That doesn’t bode well.

The Steelers are a virtual lock to be fine this season. Nobody expected them to win the division and march to a title. And they’re on pace to win 9-11 games and likely make the playoffs as long as Rodgers stays healthy.

I really dunno. Pittsburgh is 27th in OYPG at 269.0 and 29th in DYPG at 394.5.
They won despite the turnovers. I'm not saying Browning is great but he's shown he's capable. With those weapons I still think they're a potential wild card team. Could be wrong.
20 Teams owners would give their left nut for Tomlin. Is he great, no, but is he better than most, yes. His message probably is getting stale at this point as well. His main problem is his loyalty to his coaches and he is not a great talent evaluator with regard to the draft. He should never have hired Art Smith as OC and he's needed a new OL coach for years. Austin is suspect as a DC but thats Tomlin's best friend so he's not going anywhere.

That draft would have guys who are around 28 or 29 right now, in their NFL prime ut we traded a couple picks away to move up and get that bum. Kenny Pickett another huge mistake

Last won in 2009. There have only been 11 different teams that have won it since. So that means 21 teams have not won it and yet we are bashing the Steelers? Tough loss in 2011 and Tomlin hasnt put it together since so should he go?, possibly but as they say with franklin, who else can do it. Certainly not the 21 other head coaches in the league. I am not a Tomlin fan as he has done less with more but so has just about everyone else.
