20 Teams owners would give their left nut for Tomlin. Is he great, no, but is he better than most, yes. His message probably is getting stale at this point as well. His main problem is his loyalty to his coaches and he is not a great talent evaluator with regard to the draft. He should never have hired Art Smith as OC and he's needed a new OL coach for years. Austin is suspect as a DC but thats Tomlin's best friend so he's not going anywhere.

They always seem to steal a WR in the draft but they also always miss on round 1, 3 and 4 picks, which is where their lack of depth is coming from. Devin Bush was a huge mistake. That draft would have guys who are around 28 or 29 right now, in their NFL prime ut we traded a couple picks away to move up and get that bum. Kenny Pickett another huge mistake

Bring back Matt Canada.

Baltimore sports radio hosts were talking after the loss to the Bills during week 1 and had a poll, would Pittsburgh trade them Tomlin for Harbaugh and a 5th round pick. Many people here said they would give Harbaugh and basically any draft pick other than a #1 for that deal.

Fine.

Mike Tomlin and John Harbaugh have met in 37 total games, with Tomlin holding a 22-15 record against Harbaugh. This includes a 2-1 record for Tomlin in the postseason, making the Steelers-Ravens rivalry the second-most frequent matchup between NFL head coaches

Harbaugh holds the lions share of responsibility for the Ravens late game flops, imo.

Straight up Tomlin for Ozzie Newsome and we have a deal! Check this out. $173.8mm being paid to the defense to do this.

Dang, you could see the play developing from a mile away. I’m the farthest thing from an X&O guy as you’ll find on this board, but I heard the screaming from the coaches box.

They've been poorly coached for years--somehow they'll win 9 games and Tomlin will be praised for holding them together and get an extension
Pittsburgh sports are awful right now. Tomlin's holding the Steelers hostage, the Pens are living in the past refusing to embrace the future and the Bucs are arguably the worst run organization in sports.

As long as the Cleveland Browns exist the Buccos will never be the worst run organization in sports.

Past time. An entire regime change is needed in Pittsburgh.
I love Tomlin. But, sadly you are correct. What has happened to Mike Tomlin has happened to pretty much every great head coach. Eventually you just don't go it no more. I'd love to see him make one more run at a title, but I think his ceiling has become sneaking into the playoffs and then getting blasted in the first round.

Let's see if the Patriots copy this week and run a different play off of it IF the Steelers choose to adjust.

You absolutely would make that deal, Ozzie might’ve been the best general manager in football while he was doing it. They didn’t miss on any first round draft picks, and regularly got guys in the later rounds to contribute. As Jim mentioned, Harbaugh probably cost that team a couple championships with those rosters.

The bigger more interesting question for the Stillers is not how they will fare this season because we have had to watch that bad movie over and over. It is what they are going to do to secure a franchise QB.

Ozzie is still the Vice President of player personnel for the Ravens and I'd still make that trade for him in that position. Rooney isn't quite at Jerry Jones level, but he's still involved on draft day. He needs to take a step back and let the professionals do their job, and I think Ozzie would have the cashe to do that.

Drastic changes are needed in every Pittsburgh team. The Pirates either need a sugar daddy owner who is willing to dump loads of his own money into the team or else the Pirates should move to another city. The Pittsburgh market can no longer support a major league baseball team. The Pens need to enter rebuilding mode. They need to dump Crosby, Malkin, and Letang and commit to younger talent. The Steelers need to dump Tomlin and rebuild like the Pens.

The pitt football team needs to face the fact that they can't compete with the big boys. They don't have a stadium. They have minimal fan support. They have no NIL money. They need to move down to a league like the MAC or Patriot's League and walk away from their past, which isn't too great anyway.

Pirates are sadly one of the most profitable teams in baseball.

I like Tomlin too but his time in Pittsburgh should be done. A scenery change may do him good but he hasn't adapted to today's football world. Meaning score points, points and more points. His defense is tired and overrated and don't even get me started on his judgement of Assistant coaches because its God awful. This years OC and DC included. Still not sure about Omar Khan.

Approximately 20 teams in the NFL ask this question every year.

I like Omar Khan. I think he’s a modern GM for a modern NFL. I agree that they need a complete refresh from a coaching standpoint.

Yes, the two coordinators are disasters. While I don’t mind good old-fashioned Smash Mouth football, there’s no originality to get the run game going for that team. Plus, the route tree leaves a lot to be desired, especially with two high-quality tight ends.

Watching Connor Heward play is a disaster as well, if his brother wasn’t on the team, he wouldn’t even be a practice squad player

True...the EK deal was beyond stupid though he did that to unload other bad contracts and because its what Sid wanted.

Sid definitely has hurt the team with his demands. Amazing player. Thrilled I got to watch his career as a Pen but he should never be making decisions.

The Pens are in full re-build mode. They have accumulated a ton of assets. And Crosby (especially) and Malkin and Letang are bargains. Rebuild will take time but things are pointed in the right direction.

I’m confused. Panty boys cry to the heavens when I suggest Franklin moves on but here we are in a Pitt stronghold calling for TomliNs head. Which coach won more big games (answer: the Pitt coach)

you boys need to get organized

They have 12 draft picks so they could easily package a deal to move up. However, if they play like they did last week, they won’t have to.

That's easy. They will finish with a record around 5 - 12 and will have a high draft pick. They just have to pick Drew Allar and their QB problem is solved.

6 Super Bowl victories!! Damn right. Tied for the best.
Last won in 2009. There have only been 11 different teams that have won it since. So that means 21 teams have not won it and yet we are bashing the Steelers? Tough loss in 2011 and Tomlin hasnt put it together since so should he go?, possibly but as they say with franklin, who else can do it. Certainly not the 21 other head coaches in the league. I am not a Tomlin fan as he has done less with more but so has just about everyone else.
Thr who else argument is about the worst argument in sports. Who knew Tomlin would be successful?

Coaches that don't have post-season success are fired. He should he fired. He'll get another job in 30 minutes. Best for all involved

Those other teams that aren't winning titles don't keep coaches that are failing.
