So as of 630 tonight Miles and complete staff are at the Hendricks practice facility.
Seem odd this late with no season?

you're a troll. Team meeting informing the team of the situation. Hopefully Miles is encouraging the returning players to stick it out and give the new staff a chance.

If the UNL AD and Chancellor both have to clear the basketball coach hiring with the system President, then the Regents have made the Chancellor’s job a joke and he should leave, too.
It has to do with the size of the contract. Any contract over a certain dollar amount has to be approved by the Board of Regents.

As an outsider, I think Miles stays. Lot's of bad luck this year, and he's a pretty damned good coach.

I have no idea if you are an outsider, but one thing I know is facts. Miles in 7 full seasons at Nebraska has an overall record of 116-114 (.504) and a 52-76 (.406) conference record. That is about the farthest thing from being "a pretty damned good coach".

I think it's safe to say that if Miles is not fired tomorrow, then there's a clusterf*ck going on in the A.D. office.

If we have the next coach lined up already, there is no reason to keep Miles and his staff twisting in the wind for more than 2 days. It seems like maybe Hoiberg has had second thoughts since the story leaked out last week.

This could end up being the basketball equivalent of the Tennessee coaching search. Jesus what a freaking mess.
We're not anywhere even remotely close to that. First of all, we would have to have someone publicly announced as the hire and then have to back out for some reason. Then we would have to have multiple other people known to have been offered the job and turn it down. Not to mention we would have to have a former coach orchestrating things behind the scenes and end up as the AD. None of that exists here at all. There is not any comparison whatsoever to any of that. So far all we have is a coach that is expected to be fired and hasn't been yet. Everything else is pure speculation or rumor. People need to calm down and stop casting this as some kind of huge dumpster fire that it isn't at this point.

We're only now approaching 24 hours since the basketball season ended, and it's "a freaking mess" because we haven't fired our coach and hired a new one already? I think that's a bit of an exaggeration.
You're both right and I overreacted. the Hoiberg stuff has been reminiscent of the 'grumors' Tennessee had it's not a mess at this point, just a weird week or so.

Still, it's not good timing for the University President to announce his resignation right when the University is on the verge of replacing its 2nd-highest paid employee. I just don't see why he couldn't wait and announce this after we've hired a new bball coach. I thought after Moos and Frost were hired that everyone in the administration was finally on the same page, but that does not appear to be the case.

Now every national media person who covers college basketball is blasting our athletic director on social media tonight. If Moos doesn't have a new coach lined up yet, it's not going to be easy to find one after this.

Please share. I could use some good reading material

Also, it could be they are negotiating terms of the buyouts
I’ve heard all kinds of crap tonight. Stuff like Moos and Miles will be fired tomorrow. That Bounds was the only guy in Moos corner and now that he’s gone, so is Moos.

Also that Bounds leaving screwed us out of getting Hoiberg because Bounds has to sign off on it. Except the fact that Bounds isn’t leaving till August. So that doesn’t fly.

I’ve heard people say that Miles floated the rumors of Moos drinking and fondling boosters wives in a last ditch effort to save his job.

Who knows what’s going on.

This. I will add we have heard Moos is out and Trev will be in . Sadler is coming back as an assistant to the Mayor which might actually have legs to it.

I will be glad when this chapter is over. Message board rumors are such garbage and benefit nobody.

Gossip and rumors abound. Who knows what is true. If Miles is going to be fired....fire him Tuesday and move on. I appreciate Miles not being fired today if he is going to be fired....gave him time to tie up loose ends with players.

I also heard rumor about Sadler coming back to be a assistant under Hoiberg...

If Mile’s isn’t announced today, something went dramatically wrong at the top.. Hate to speculate and be patient but have to admit I’m worried something went wrong..

I would expect Moos to announce the firing by tomorrow and a hire by Friday or Saturday.
I am thinking along these lines too. The team got back into town yesterday at some point. I am just assuming Moos isn't going to be like, "Hey Tim, sorry about the loss, oh and by the way pack your stuff your fired" Let him and his team get settled back in and unpacked at least. If not today, I really don't see the point in waiting. Unless he really isn't fired???

If no announcement today, yes I would start to worry something happened big time.

The meltdown would be entertaining.....Laughing We'll be fine. It's a basketball coach. In the bigger scheme of life for Nebraskans it really isn't a big thing.

If there is no announcement today I would have to agree that something is up. Moos’ track record, here and elsewhere is that he has his next guy before firing the current one. So if we hear nothing today than I’m guessing the Bounds departure may have played into the Hoiberg situation more than we thought. I’m not freaking out yet but if I hear nothing by the end of the day I’m assuming Hoiberg is no longer coming and we are still searching or perhaps retaining Miles

If no Hoiberg and things really did fall through last minute. I say might as well keep Miles. Give him another year. Maybe by a freak miracle he can pull things together. If not, gives Moos more time to find another guy.

If Hoiberg is not coming and Moos is looking for a replacement before firing Miles, I think that is a chicken **** move. Fire the dude if you are going to fire him, don't play freaking games with people's lives like that. just my opinon

Have you lost your mind.. The cupboard is bare now and we have a guy that is 2 games above .500 with a one year extension.... Moos has had a whole year looking over and looking for a Head Coach I don’t see him retaining TM..

I’m more concerned about landing Hoieberg at this point and I think I speak for the majority of Husker fans..
Clouse started earlier he thought Moos would fire Miles by Tuesday and hire the new coach (Hoiberg) by this weekend. So I’m with you but I think unless we don’t hear something today than all seems to still be in place. If we hear nothing by tomorrow than I’m worried.
