So, I know a ton of you out there use Tinder. They just launched a premium version, Tinder Plus. It lets you go back and change a swipe, and lets you search outside your geographic region.

The catch is that this feature costs $9.99 per month if you are under 30, an $19.99 if you are 30 and up. Will ANYONE who uses Tinder pay for this feature?

I ask because I am interested in the parent company IACI. I can't imagine anyone paying for that functionality, but I thought I'd ask the experts.

too bad you can't take back a tinder date after you catch an std. if they invent that feature, they will rule the world.

I can't understand why anyone would get the premium. It does everything you need now. Maybe if premium allowed you to see the actual date of the pics presented or showed the girl's entire body.

Hmmm, thought there would be more feedback. Apparently only 2 folks willing to admit they use one of the most awesome apps ever created. Weird.

I used it for about a year and under no circumstance would I pay for the service. Its perfectly fine the way it is. Ive been dating someone for about 10 months now, but if I were to be single again and use tinder, no possible way I pay $10 a month so I can re-swipe. That is ignorant.

Been marred for a few years now so i've never used it. But it better do a hell of a lot more than that for those prices if they are expecting to make any money.

people in their 20's are freeloading bastards who have grown up thinking everything in life should be free. movies, premium tv shows, video games, books. what corporate marketing moron thinks that any significant number of this age group of deadbeats would willingly fork over $10 a month for advanced Tindering?

Been married for almost ten years, so I use Tinder a lot. I'm pretty angry they want to charge us 30-something's extra. Not angry enough to stop using the site, but still angry.

dennis, tinder should have a "combo" and "super-combo" feature. if you swipe ten people to the "boneable" list, and all ten swipe you back, you should get free month. do with 25 people in a row, and you should get a free year

OK. For the record, I am just trying to decide if IACI is a big short here, because they've convinced the investment community that they are going to super-monetize Tinder, but to me, these weakass features aren't going to monetize hardly at all.

For good looking women, that's a layup.

When I saw this thread, I thought it was Tinder for Fatties...which is a better idea, imho. They're gonna pay because they have low self esteem and nobody wants to bone them on the regular Tinder...I assume. There are people like Willy out there, but a whole Tinder dedicated to fornicating fatties would crush it more so than whatever this Plus stuff is.

And an even better idea would be a Tinder "Prime/Select" where the chicks would have to be certified at a certain level of hotness. That would be worth paying for.

they are a bad investment. why? because IAC also owns okcupid and match.com. stupidity for them to report metrics such as "number of users/active users". each person that pays for tinder potentially won't be paying for their other paid services. if you want a more professional opinion, i can put a ping out to my classmate and see what he says--he helped make two of the biggest social networking sites ever, the first one was used pretty much for boning when it started out.

Mash- I don't even know how this tinder thing works. You put your picture on and girls will swipe it if they want to do you?

And it's currently a free app that is getting people laid, and so someone wants to "juice it up" so they can make money off of something that seems to already be working just fine? And that juice up is going to cost over $20+?

Tinder is the Myspace of today. Someone is going to to come along with a better app with better ideas and features and put them out of business. I'm guilty, I had tinder for about a month. Then I decided I didnt want my face being put out in the local community that I'm desperate and need someone, so I deleted it. That, and my girlfriend of 6 months wouldve eventually found it and read my messages.

There are lots of really dumb people with ten dollars to blow up each month. Never used tinder, but I can see this working.

Yes, this is the whole point. Everyone is dumb. I'm sure "lots" of dumb people will buy it. But are there enough dumb people to buy the awful service to justify the valuation the other dumb people are making? I don't know. I should put this poll on raftards.

I think Grindr is the clear "getting laid" champion.

it would be a waste of money to buy premium service. 99% of people who "like" each other don't even message and carry on a conversation, much less get to the point of meeting in person
