Here's my choices:

1A - Purple Riders - love the nickname
2A - Vikings - Gets back after falling short last year

5A - Roadrunners - Back-to-back for Racki
6A - Broncos - Coach A gets an "A"
7A - Hitters - Hetlet gets one in high scoring affair.
8A - Ramblers - Holacek finally gets a well deserved title

From 4A to 8A, I agree with all of your picks. I'm not familiar with 1A to 3A, but I do expect Bishop Mac to win 3A and am looking forward to seeing them play. As far as quality of the matchups, I would rank the 4A to 8A title games as follows:

4A....most intriguing game, IMO. Has historical significance with Phillips going for the 1st title for a CPS team. Althoff knocked off the 5-time defending champs and has a prolific offense. Can Phillips' D perform up to their usual standard and slow the Althoff O? That's the matchup I'm most looking forward to seeing in any of these games.
7A....this does not seem quite as good of a matchup as originally thought. GW is now the clear favorite based on each's playoff performance. Just can't see Lees running all over GW, and I think Brodner and Co. will have success against Libertyville's defense.
6A....CM has the athletes to matchup with Montini. Not sure they have the line play to compete all game at the LOS. This should be an entertaining game, though. I'm guessing Montini pulls away in the second half. CM will break some big plays.
5A....LWW has played a quality schedule for a 5A team in the SWSR. They definitely will compete at the LOS, but do they have the athletes to stay with Naz? Naz' defense has been very good in the playoffs. Can't see LWW having much success pounding Montalvo. Love and co. will break big plays. LWW needs to get a lead to have any chance.
8A....have no idea how Marist will slow down the Loyola offense. Marist will have some success on offense, but Loyola will be the best defense they have seen. I'm thinking Loyola had a bit of an HF hangover against Palatine. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't see this one being close.

I have. They are impressive. I like Montalvo too. They will need to use those strengths to the fullest to win. Best scenario for LWW is to get a lead. That was the biggest key in the JCA/Naz game. JCA spotted Naz a 14-point lead due to two big turnovers. I think LWW's strengths are similar to JCA's, that's why it's important for them to play from ahead.

4A, 5A, 7A and 8A may not be very close, I hope they are, 6A looks the most interesting. JMO.

LWW only 2 losses this year were to a very good and athletic Thornton squad and an overtime loss to an undefeated, number 1 seeded 6A LWN team. I think LWW has been a bit over looked all year. I think LWW wins 24-17.

4A & 6A are close games. The rest really won't be worth watching as they will be lob sided.

This is the least exciting year of matchups in the state title game. Most years all of the games are great matchups.

its going to be interesting to see if the speed of Montini's defense can keep up or limit the speed of CM.

LWW pounds the ball and wears down the clock. I don't think to would be easy to get a running clock on them just do to the fact the take so much time off of the clock them selves.

You're absolutely correct. LWW is a 3 score favorite. Montini will have the clock rolling after 1 2nd half series.

I'm not trying to say they are a favorite because they are definitely not, I'm just saying it's going to be closer than alot if people think.

And I still don't agree with catholic teams being anywhere below 6A. But I know that's an entirely different subject.

LWW is a legit team, next level talent, big Oline, solid at every position. In a very top heavy 5A they are one of the few quality teams.

but Im not betting against Julian Love anytime soon..

And there it is..."we lost but the catholic teams cheat!" Excuse...wow 4 days early! Sounds like a page from the 2014 Lemont playbook already

Providence (although very bad this year) has been scooping up Lincoln- Way bound players for years. You can't look past the fact that catholic teams can go out and get virtually anybody they want.

That being said there is a reason not every single team in these championships are catholic teams and that is very good coaching.

Coaching always plays a part...one could argue that the strategic bracketing strategy of the IHSA is just as much of a reason .....

Apparently so. Along with Aquin, Newman, Newman, St. Bede, QND, Mater Dei, De Paul Prep, St. Teresa, St. Thomas More, IC, Guerin, etc.

I wonder if he feels similarly about Lutheran schools, Christian schools, and other non-Catholic private schools. Or is it just the damn catlicks that he wants to punish?

Yeah, PC can get virtually anybody they want...assuming those players they want also want PC and its $12,000 in tuition and fees and assuming those players don't mind taking four years of Theology, and are down with a dress code that prohibits jeans, gymshoes, flip flops, sandals, piercings, facial hair, tats, do rags, spiked hair or mohawks, etc. and assuming they can get by with no Ag or Industrial Tech electives or electives like Intro to Clothing or Intro to Foods.

Do you really think these schools pay these kid tuitions because of their religious views??? They pay them because they are excellent athletes and nothing more. They should be giving those grants to kids who really like to study their religion.

Because I'm not to far removed from HS and I played pop warner with alot of athletes that went to religious schools that weren't really the religious type.

Nazareth pays ZERO athletes tuition. This is part of the reason 8th graders choose other schools over Naz

Wow, I guess Providence really screwed up big time this year, huh? All that free tuition to "virtually anybody they want" and they STILL finished at 3-6 with all those "excellent athletes" being paid to play. What do you think happened?
