Basketball officiating, in my opinion, is the worst. Those fans are right on top of you. Can’t help but hear the insults.
Once, a few years back, I was calling balls and strikes during a high school game. Game was tight around the fifth inning. Full count. Batter looks at a pitch for strike three. As he turns toward dugout his father is just screaming at me about how unfair and blind I am. Boy looks into stands and yells “Shut up daddy! It was right down the middle! “
