I myself have it and feel it's well worth the price.

4 million people other than myself have it. That's easily WAY more people that would tune in on a Saturday at noon and watch WVU vs Kansas regular season game on ESPN "regular"

Only 4 million watched Duke vs North Carolina last year. Duke vs UNC

You really believe #16 WVU draws more than that Saturday and this "National Audience" will be missing out?

The power of the dollar will determine the future of college sports.

What schools have fanbases willing to purchase a product to view their school.

As the only school in West Virginia there is no reason why they should be left out.

Anyone who complains doesn't care enough about WVU

School and conference leaders feel this will position the conference well going into their next tv negotiations.

The third tier rights will be in play along with the tier one and two rights.

You seem to be implying all 4 million subscription holders will watch the game.

I will never pay extra money for ESPN.

And pay espn to do it. No thanks. A stupid *** post that claims everybody with ESPN plus will watch that game at that time frame and make it sound like more people have ESPN plus than espn regular. Stupidest **** I've ever heard. And yes a national audience plus a wvu and Kansas audience would definitely love to see that game especially after we just smoked o$u so yes a national audience IS missing out on something they would have watched. Bunch of dumb *** buttplugs floating around here

Well if I cant watch it on my 27 inch magnavox or my 13 inch black and white then it's definitely not worth giving money to the worst network on television to watch it. I'd rather follow the play by play on Yahoo sports app for free

Well I agree with that...

I have a very short list of companies that will never receive another dollar from my wallet. ESPN has a permanent place on it.

I get ESPN only for football season and only because they have games that I can't watch elsewhere. I like WVU basketball but not as much as WVU football, thus I can do without ESPN during basketball season. Paying yet an extra fee on top of regular cable to get ESPN+? No, thanks. A line has to be drawn somewhere.

I literally never watch anything on ESPN other than a game. There is nothing else on their channel to watch and even their game coverage is bad, but if my choice is to watch a game with bad coverage or not watch at all, I usually pick the former (during football season I mean...the rest of the year I just get rid of ESPN).

ESPN is lousy, period.

If there ever becomes a way to watch football in the fall without ESPN then I'm with you. Or if you mean you'll never pay for ESPN over and above the regular cost of cable, then I'm already with you.

I live about .2 of a mile from a main road that Comcast services with pretty good high-speed internet. I would gladly pay the $4.99 a month if I didn't have to use the jerry-rigged DSL that Frontier claims is sufficient for streaming video.

For 2020, it will probably end up being around $25 total. Basketball has games in January, February, and March and I figure that August/September plus maybe one more in October for football is realistic. Nobody likes being nickel and dimed to death but for me, watching these games is more meaningful than trying to stick it to ESPN for the $25+/-.

I gave up cable. We had sling for awhile which was really nice but realized we never watched it so I dropped it....right now it's Netflix, Hulu, Disney + (and Amazon Prime, which we get because we have membership for Amazon diapers).

Im not at a place in life where I can commit time to college sports. I have little kids and work as much as I can...plopping in front of a tv on Saturday just isn't an option right now.

If there's a game I really want to see, I stop into a bar for a half.

I felt like college football made me more frustrated than happy. Too much emotional investment in something I have no control over. I walked away from watching and its been fine.

Will you still think it's worth the price when it's $15+ a few years down the road? This is just ESPN finding more ways to gouge you.

More than likely, you'll always feels its worth the price no matter the cost because you are a perfect mark for ESPN.

Couch potatoes will always need something on their idiot box...ya dig?

Imo, this is a shill post spewing sales script talk.....i have it and so does 4 million other people and we all think it's worth the price....

Sounds salesy.

I don't disagree that ESPN will corner the market (for example, buying the SEC rights from CBS) of college football and then jack up prices...but...even at $15 a month for 5-6 months tops, that's less than $100 a year and a lot of people would still probably pay. If you don't go on vacation, out to eat a lot and this is your main source of entertainment, you'll probably buy the games...if you do those other things often, you might not see the need and not pay...to each his own.

Go look at the game schedule on ESPN for Saturday. Almost 80% of the games are on ESPN+. Our game is head to head against the NFL playoff game.

LOL - pathetic and sad sales pitch but yeah, it will rope the dopes.

Don't watch...easy.

Do something else.

TBH if I had 3 free uninterrupted hours at home I'd prob max out on Phoenix Marie porn before watching football.

I'm sold on espn+. Driving 2 hours one way and then back home late at night is not my cup of tea. Give me a Saturday afternoon game and I'll go. Plus the savings on food and gas is factored in. And the away games are available too. Very much worth it. And get used to it cause streaming is what it's going to be in the future.

Well #1, not really a pitch, just facts as I don't work for the company nor care if they are profitable. #2, most people on this board probably lead mostly sedentary lives where they have little to look forward to but WVU sports.

Very true. There is no realistic scenario in which WVU-Kansas will ever receive priority over an NFL playoff game.

I like watching on my cell phone so I can watch the games while I am driving home after leaving the bar.

This. 4M subscribers. NOT 4M viewers for a specific game. Espn regular probably has 150M subscribers. There’s no way anyone can make a legit argument at this point that being on ESPN+ is better than regular cable. B12 is simply trying to get in early into a new streaming market with the idea that it is the wave of the future. Maybe it will be. Maybe it won’t. On one hand, it’s good they’re thinking outside the box. But on the other, it sucks right now to watch your team on an inferior broadcast. The camera and graphics on the wvu Kansas football game in the fall was like watching a high school broadcast. I’m sure it will get better. I hope.

All this anguish over $4.95 a month? Really?
You spend more than that on beer and all it does is make you belch!
I LOVE my ESPN+ because I get to see Huggins Heroes play Kansas twice on it, plus other Big 12 games.
Cut back on the Miller Lite (for pansies anyway) or Maker's Mark (I'm talking to you, Kahuna) and pay up.
WVU is worth it!!! 4 p.m. Saturday. Time's awastin'!

We bought the annual subscription of ESPN+ and really like it. There are so many sports and games available , especially women’s basketball, soccer just to name a few. We were skeptical at first. No regrets. And now that men’s basketball is on too, it was a good move for us to buy into it. Like many have posted, we watch on our big screen smart tv

We have Frontier here in FL. No problems at all with ESPN+
