Thank your thinking of me Sky. Other than staying dizzy and light headed, stomach problems from the medicine and weak with poor energy I do pretty well. I have a docs appointment today for blood results of white and red blood counts. I am lucky in that my disease (which is named MDS) so far it treatable with medicine. Compared to Mike Irby on THR who has a more advanced stage of this disease and is having a much tougher time I am lucky.

You're in my prayers, Gottogo. I'm sorry you're going through this, but I'm so thankful that it isn't as severe as Mike's disease. Hang in there buddy, keep on fighting. And if you need some help (money, etc.), don't be afraid to ask...we'll do what we can.

Life is linear. Love it, love Duke and be at peace, cuz this is precious, and finite. Wishing you a long line brother!

Thank you for the well wishes guys and on behalf of Mike Irby thank you also. Its hard to think I have anything in common with a UNC guy but through email with Mike I found him to be a real nice fellow. My blood work came back a little low yesterday but hopefully will stabilize.

Well said gotta. I e-mailed Mike a few years ago about the way he ripped Coach K in a real negative way. I knew he was a Christian and just pointed out to him that I'd lost some respect for him being and I that way. He was very polite and since then although I haven't been over at THR very much at all he stopped doing that to Coach K. I know he must be going through a great deal right now and it certainly puts things in order. Look he's just as big of an UNC fan as I am a Duke fan and I respect that. He's a mod and runs the board in the way he feels is necessary. It is what it is. But most of all I hope he beats the disease and bans as many Duke and UK fans as he can. You too gotta. Go beat this thing. I'm pretty sure I can't post over their but next time you communicate with Mike tell him that I do pray for him and wish him well. OFC

Sky I certainly don't know him well except via a few emails and no idea when I'll communicate with him again but I am pretty sure he knows you are one of the good guys who cares for people. Since his sickness it seems he has mellowed a good bit as we do when we understand the more important things in life.

Unfortunately, we all can get carried away at times. Rooting for our Blue Devils, and booing our rival is fun, but only if kept in the context of the priorities of life.
