Today's NBA talent is insane

Watching the all-star game, NBA talent is absurd nowadays. The size, length, athleticism and skill of the top players in the league is incredible compared to 20-30 years ago. 3 pt line looks almost too close and guys can comfortably shoot from 30 feet, 7 ft players run and shoot like guards, dunking looks too easy. In my view the freakish athleticism of the NBA is on a different level than any other sports league in the world and has also advanced dramatically since the early 1980's when I started watching the game.

Big Ten basketball and the NBA are almost two different sports, and I love watching both. A game like tonight's Duke-UNC matchup probably comes closest to combining the best of both.

I agree the players today are better than ever. Having said that, there are a few players who have spanned that era and stayed on rosters. I think you are overstating the differential a little!

Someone has been on an NBA roster since the 1980s or 90s?
