I have no doubt MR will handle this the right way. I'd also be interested to see how Keith Williams responds, if he does at all.
Evidently it's just WAY too hard to not smoke weed. Again, if it were up to me, I wouldn't care if they played the game itself blazed out of their minds if they're winning games. But the rules are clear. You can smoke weed OR you can play football.
Well, people have differing views on what is the right thing to do, and most people don't have the totality of information either - about the crime and the "conduct detrimental" aspect of it. I think pretty much all coaches (even Bo!) just do the best they can and I don't get too worked up about their decisions.
Many would have learned from their first run in with the police. Tolbert is not one of them.
They should have made brownies. When the police stop a vehicle at 3AM with smoke billowing out the windows, that smells like "burning rope", and they see a glass pipe on the seat, they are sure to think "narcotics" are involved. If the young people had been sitting there eating brownies, the police would have thought they were just enjoying a wholesome, early-morning snack.
I agree, BUT, everyone knows that it is the law. And even if it weren't, it's still an NCAA rule. So when you know it's that way and you do it anyhow...is it the law or the person who's dumb?
He knew the laws in NE...NCAA policy....and UNL policy regarding pot. He has twice chosen pot over getting a free education and playing football at the college level. Unfortunate.....many young men would love the opportunity.
Unfortunately he evidently is not bright enough to not get caught. Been smoking pot for quite some time and have never once been caught. Honestly I'd rather have the kid smoking weed than drinking legal alcohol.
