Izzo has lost 61 games in the last 5 years. Sixty one. That an average of 12.2 loses per year over the last five years.

It's so funny to see everyone else get a pass for (and even get slobbered on) for accomplishing something we crucify our own for. Shameless.

100% agree. I wouldn’t want Izzo here. He’s past his prime, but you undermine your own point. Even Izzo, who stinks at this point in his career, completely dominated Pope last night. Gotta get it right or this won’t last

My point is that he would have been run out of town well before last night, so we won't have even played him. Your a hard guy to like, lol.

I have no clue what other coaches are doing besides the obvious ones like dukes coach. Ik Michigan state is always a tough team. Izzo is their K.

Right. But I was surprised only two players followed him to UK. That’s out of the total roster at BYU and whoever he was recruiting at the time.
Your surprised Morman's didn't want to go across the country to the Baptist Bible belt? Please.

The current BYU coach doesn’t seem to have a problem getting non mormons to go there. That’s just as difficult.
Aren't you the guy that wanted Cal gone so bad that you made up a "done deal" story about it a season before it actually happened? Now you want Pope gone quickly. Can't wait for the next coach that you all can't be bothered with.

Aren’t you the guy that is on their 100th screen name? Or is that total too low?
I’m not certain but I think that could be Cold Stout Beer. I was just noticing he does that same “HAHAHAHAHA” thing instead of making an argument, constantly threatens to put people on ignore, does nothing but exclusively troll hunting and goes trigger finger explosive if someone says anything even remotely critical of Pope. I could be wrong, but there are similarities

Can't really blame Pope for lack of roster continuity in year 2. There's a lot of things you can blame him for, but that's not one.
Agreed in that it’s a tough position with the mass player movement and him needing to build a roster from scratch, although myself and others were disappointed last year in how many guys were brought in with only one year of eligibility. Jaxson, Carr, Amari, Brea, Butler, Almonor, even Kriisa before he got a medical redshirt. It basically guaranteed an almost entirely new team core this season, which is always a risk.

I don’t think Pope has any desire to be a OAD factory, he has a system. He recruits guys for his system not an offer to showcase NBA highlights. You can’t blame him for getting what he got last year and I think going forward he will bring in guys to work into the system, much like Izzo in that regard.

The problem for CBB is it is running at max speed unregulated and it can’t sustain it. The fans will lose interest or they will go broke and I don’t think fans are gonna keep paying more and more and more to cover NIL. For example, I could get YouTube Tv right now but why would I I can easily find it free, cheap.

View attachment 1013063we aren’t the pinnacle of college basketball anymore 🥲
The pinnacle of college basketball is beating Kansas without their best player by 12? Why wouldn’t you be posting Florida last year or UConn in 2023 and 2024 if you’re talking pinnacle? Is it because we care more about winning the early signing period more than the national championship?

Nine straight. Pretty impressive. We haven’t done jack **** In a long time. We aren’t the top program right now that’s a fact.

I didn’t say we are. Neither is Duke, unless bragging rights for recruiting is more important than winning. UConn threatens to win 3 of 4 this year and people are drooling over Darius Acuff

I don’t agree with the way the portal is transferring 10 different times after one season for whatever reason…I don’t agree with the NIL money either if you’re a college athlete having a free ride to go to a university which is worth about 200 grand or more should be plenty, not to mention being treated like a king. This ****** sob story oh they’re so oppressed they deserve a salary is ridiculous. Gonna destroy the entire thing

Izzo may be right but it doesn’t change the likelihood that he won’t be competing for a championship any time soon, maybe never again. It’s the way of the world now for college teams. I’m not saying it’s right or ok but it’s the current path unlikely to go back.

Well, I like to think Pope was attempting to establish that to an extent. Last year he had a blank slate. He had to build a competitive roster from scratch. Zero returnees. With this years group he focused more on players that still have multiple years of eligibility. We had four guys back from last year. We only have two seniors is you don't count the walk-ons. obviously there will be a couple that leave by other means, Pros, transfer, etc. but his intent was to have continuity into future seasons. I don't think Popes long term intent is to have a massive roster turnover year after year. but that was kind of impossible in year two when he had to start from zero.

I think if Ky ever gets a coach as good as Izzo is right now, past his prime, as you say, I will be a happy MF.
