He just doesn’t seem motivated any more. He looks burnt out. Could be wrong but that’s my take

Tomlin’s net worth is estimated between 25-50 million. I bet it’s closer to 50 million. His current earnings with endorsements was roughly 8 million/ year. It’s rumored that one team has offered Harbaugh 20 Million. Mmmm. Tomlin might want to test the market at some point.

I’m sure he will. I just believe he peaked 15 years ago

...gonzo. i'm sure it will be spun as mutual... hwlluva career there. Where's he land?
For the record, it was Tomlin's call. Tomlin told the team after the game that there would be a meeting the next day. That's not the normal routine. Then there was Art Rooney's statement and the fact that he's still under contract with the Steelers. But there were Steelers fans who wanted Tomlin fired. The Fire Tomlin chant during that one game was a disgrace. But then there are idiots in every fan base. Some people are just very unhappy and take it out on the teams that they say they support.

I know I grumble and joke about Tomlin sometimes but part of me will miss seeing him on the sideline. I'll always cherish the earlier years of his tenure.

Think it's probably best for him and for the Steelers that they parted ways. He seems burnt out these days. Take a needed break and good luck wherever you end up Mike.

Yep you last paragraph is spot on . I have said that for years on here about certain posters that are always negative it’s not just message board rants I believe they are just truly unhappy in their life.

If he goes to coach anywhere else they have to "trade" for him.. Similar to the Sean Peyton to Denver situation

There’s only one ring and 32 teams fight for it every year. It is hard af to get close to it. He probably felt like he was living in Groundhog Day, at least the first half of the movie before he figured things out.

It could be...It also sucks coaching when you know you are not going to "win it all"

It just gets boring. It becomes a job instead of something fun. You sort of just start to go through the motions, waiting for the season to end.

Yeah, it would be hard to be 53 and know you can probably sign a deal that will pay you 15 million a year for the next 4 years.

I know that there are posters here that will tell you "Well, after agent fees and taxes that would really only be like 6 million a year..."

But the dude would make a fortune.
