Respectfully, he signed with NE Danger........years after his college career ended.
Your definition of stud and mine are worlds apart.

And yet he certainly accomplished more playing football than you did.

And I guess since 14 months is technically more than one year, it has been “ years “ since his career ended. But let’s not act like he is Gerry Gdowski strapping on a helmet for one more shot.

I'm confident he accomplished more on the field than both of us. So what? It's a chat board.

Not sure where 14 months comes from, he was our quarterback in 2016, and got nothing from the 2017 draft. Not kicking him, just saying what happened. Now, in 2019 he's playing ball in Grand Island..(NE) and dingle thinks he would have been a stud in Frost's offense. I simply don't agree, hence my post.

TA would have been serviceable in Frost’s offense, but would have had trouble with throws that are critical for that O to be efficient.

Sooooo......he wasn't a good fit.

Appreciate what he did.......but no match for today's system.

I think Tommy would have done pretty good in Scott's offense, and not so sure that he wouldn't be starting his Jr & Sr years, even with Martinez here. The guy was a great athlete and pretty good team leader and as an upperclassman, that is pretty valuable.

Tommy's shine got way duller having to deal with the Mike Riley embarrassment. In a way, I felt they damaged that kid with such an emphasis on passing and not utilizing his skillset. The prior staff knew not to let him throw over the middle, yet the pro staff could never figure that out. Still makes me angry to this day what a bunch of buffoons Riley and Langsdorf were.

I hope Tommy has success.

He definitely had his bad moments but he was a warrior. He had the heart that any coach would want on their team. His throwing skills could he blamed on lack of proper coaching.

I love Tommy Armstrong despite his flaws that we all know about. We didn’t have anyone better to take his spot, and he was a good Husker.
I just wanted to add his last year or two involved sub-par to awful OL play which impacted his success in a new system.

I don't disagree with you a lot dingle, but I do here. TA was a flat out f-ing warrior, but the Frost offense would NOT fit his skillset....at all, imo. He really struggled with quick decision-making in the passing game and had a hard time with the intermediate throws.

I actually think playing in the Frost offense would have made him look a lot worse than he actually was.

None of what I have said above is to bash TA. Like I said, I loved the guy when he played here. He was all heart. I wish nothing but the best for him now.

Tommy Frazier completed 44% of his passes and his only runs over 25 yards in 1995 were against Florida...Tommy Armstrong was objectively a much better qb with a MUCH worse team. Frost was even more suspect talentwise than Frazier...I mean even Ken Dorsey is a national champion, heisman candidate with an all time great team.

Oh boy, talk about stating the 100% truth. Endless posters here are always ready to put down players TA, TM, ect. They're simply totally unable to even slightly comprehend the MASSIVE difference in surrounding talent these qbs played with. On both sides of the ball.

Excellent post Solana Beach Husker.

While Armstrong was by no means an elite QB, I really believe some people are still smarting from having announced over and over and over again that Armstrong was the weak link in the Riley/Langsdorf offense, and that everything would click once Tanner Lee got the keys. Then 2017 happened.

And I’m not putting the train wreck that was 2017 on Lee, by any means. Both guys were okay QBs playing on teams that could neither block nor tackle.

Yeah, Armstrong and Lee were average quarterbacks....wonderful people full of guts......but very average quarterbacks.
This thread is proof of homerism at its best. Comparing Armstrong to Frasier..lol..lol..lol...

I think every player who played under Riley would play much better under Scott. Riley didn’t really coach. He collected his money that Eichorst handed out to him, let everyone else take control of the program and then told us how he wished he had done things differently when he left.

No nerve hit, you are what you are, nothing more or less. Can't expect much from a loser like you other than to put down those that exceled way beyond your limited abilities, on or off the field.
Horse ****....I hit your nerve.
Grow up son......
You like TA....I don't .
That simple.
Moving on.......
