Linked below are details regarding the EDGYTIM.com Senior Showcase powered by EFT Football Academy set for this Tuesday starting at 6:30PM.
We are highly encouraging all to pre-register but we will also take some walk-ups. This showcase is intended for Seniors Only (Class of 2016) and coaches from D2 thru D3 along with NAIA and Juco will be in attendance to evaluate kids in person. I have so far nearly 40 coaches confirmed and I'm expecting at least 45-50 as the final count. This event will also be live streamed and several coaches have also said they would be watching live online as well.
So why this Senior Showcase?
This is an event that I've been passionately wanting to do for the past 4-5 years now. At this time of the year it gets so frustrating seeing so many kids who either
A. Have very little going on with recruiting and want to play in college.
B. Had a situation/circumstance where they didn't get much senior year playing time (injury etc.)
C. Had academic issues
D. Just was overlooked by coaches.
I get tired of sitting by and not at least trying to help those seniors. I see and hear so many "pillars of recruiting" preach on and on about how much they help the kids...yet when kids and parents need that help the most they have already moved onto the next class and the class after that and are nowhere to be found. I was as guilty as anyone but now is a chance to correct that line of thought with this event and hopefully more like it down the road.
I also could not pull this off without Elias Karras and everyone at EFT in Deerfield. EFT came to me in the summer, we had some terrific talks on how we could get some things including this Senior Showcase done and here we are.
The Senior Showcase isn't a huge money maker (go ahead and try to book an indoor facility in early December along with having to pay staff, liability insurance etc.) but for myself and EFT and most importantly the seniors. parents and coaches this event will be well worth it.
Also the live stream video channels have been added and we will also add rosters once the registration process is completed on Tuesday night via PDF file.
