There was an article in the premium board that said something about an update with him.... anyone have any info on that? Is he struggling academically? Should we be worried about him?

I read on 247's website that it was just an update; he took 23 credit hours to try to graduate in December. He has a B average. He finds out his grades on Thursday. That's it.

As was said above, he's coming, the question is does he make it early or in the summer?

This kid’s issue was never grades, correct? He was the kid who quit football and became a team manager or something and had great grades. then transferred to Juco to get back in football.

Seems like this staff only wants JUCOs that can be in here by December and go through strength/conditioning and spring practice. With a limited clock on a JUCO, is it worth waiting a year for them to be ready to contribute? The thought of a kid his size working out on his own does not make one feel real good.

Started out at Indiana st. Got hurt, went to juco. Not sure about quitting football and manager part

Word is that coaches haven’t reached out to him? Are we still expecting Mr. Fair to be here or is the transfer of Daniels a sign he may not be coming?

I just read on 247 Sports that he passed everything he needed to pass and is just waiting to hear from our coaches.

That's not completely accurate...NU has been in contact with him the last two weeks

"Baby sitting" academics, qualification, etc

Decisions forthcoming

Unless coaches think he can’t help the team I really hope we keep him. Last year proved we lacked “thickness” up front.

It sounds like there is something amiss here as far as NU letting him sign. He wants to be here pretty badly, but has hinted that the coaches have given him "mixed signals". Grades weren't an issue with Fair, but there was a question on if he would be able to graduate in December. He took 23 hours this semester and got the results of all of his classes yesterday and according to him, is good to go.

I do know that Nebraska wants most of their JUCO's to be able to get here in December, so they can go through conditioning and spring ball with the team. The NU staff is going to "audit" all JUCO early enrollees to make sure that everything is good to go with them before they let them sign on Dec 19th. I don't think they want any surprises like they had with Woodyard last year. I think Bland is going through a similar process as there are questions with him. Also, some people think that there may be some transfers/grad transfers that may be higher on their board now. They have also offered Noa Pola-Gates cousin who is a 2019 DL recruit.

this would make the most sense to me validating eligibility with the jucos/transfers before ending recruitment of others.

Less than two weeks away from having so many questions answered. It’s excitin times in Huskerland.

Looks like you’re on to something. He says he’s reopening his recruitment, but it sure sounds like he wants to be here.

I have a feeling 4* DT Pola suddenly looking to official to NU in January and proven P5 starter in elder Daniels transferring in have plenty to do with this. Tough break for Fair if that's the case, but that's the business that it has become. Of course there could be more to it and we'll never know, coaches are not allowed to comment.

One member of the Pola family is playing softball for NU, here's hoping three of them are on campus come fall.

I hate to compare what we are in more need of, but I think it’s more important that we land Bland on the offensive line more so than Fair now that Daniels from Okie St is transferring.

He just had a great interview with Carriker. Seems very humble and committed to getting better. With his solid work ethic he’ll be fine.

I'll say one thing for this staff, they seem to close strong as hell. In the mix for a few more 4* kids with Robinson, Pola-Gates, the DT Pola. I think we can get inside the top-20 with 247, Rivals has NU at 16 already. I think we get Robinson, what if it got wild and we got both the Pola boys? Class rank of 10-15 don't you think?

I feel bad for Tony, but it is how things go sometimes. He can find somewhere to play surely. There’s a thread stating KU and Miles may be looking for some bodies.

It was already stated, but with Daniels coming in, keeping Bland in the fold is far more important.

He's doing a great job of handling this. He will have someone paying his tuition next year so he's got that going for him. Impressed by him in general.

Overall, I think he'll be a solid DT, but maybe not enough of an upgrade for us and maybe not as good as the year of Daniels and a potential other recruits

I personally wish Tony the best unless he plays against Big Red. I do think this is a play to squeeze the three high school Arizona recruits into this class. #numbersgame

As of today, the recruiting guys on the radio all seem to think, even with Robinson and Pola-Gates, 15 or so is about the max. Didn't sound like we'd get close to 10.

We will need more 4* guys to finish at fifteen. It's pretty obvious. It leads me too think we are on to some 4* guys on the d-line and more specifically NT. I know about Polamalu's nephew the staff visited, and the safety his cousin. Are we gonna pull in all these cats?

He is only a one and done guy. I was thinking they are onto someone else.

I think Daniels showed enough during the season that they don't really need Fair as badly as they initially thought. The younger Daniels as a redshirt sophomore will probably be better than Fair who would come in as a junior. As others have said, it would be better to bring in a big HS nose tackle who could redshirt next year behind Daniels and the seniors. Unless you are desperate for depth, there's no need to bring in any juco who you do not think can start for you.
