Barrington making a strong bid for DSR recognition. I can see Ramblin giving an approving nod.
H-F very impressive....coming back in Frankfort after being down 21-7. I probably still have LWE in.
MS is clearly out, especially after the Montini blowout loss tonight.
I don't think I have MC in yet. Want to see how they do against Rice.
NV jumps WV, but I probably still have WV in there.

And how about those Huskies from Naperville North? I'm not surprised at the win over WN. Surprised at how convincing it was, though. Tells me the Hilltoppers are WAY down. WN has wins over two winless teams with WWS now 0-3.

  • HF get's major credit in my book, DaCube made 2nd half hard to watch, but I was very impressed with both teams from what I saw
  • GBW gets the MS-like win the DSR was looking for
  • The DVC is back!
  • Montini out of top 25 for first time since...when?
  • Down goes MS
  • Down goes Naz
So far this year feels like there's not necessarily 1 dominant (national level) team, but a lot of top tier clubs out there.

HF does deserve some heavy duty DSR love. LWE should still be there as well.

Barrington! Wow!!

Was disappointed in my Dub V warriors and disappointed I couldn't get the dang LA/MC game on my phone from the WV stands. Too many penalties, too many turnovers, NV had more energy (it seemed Most of WVs energy was left back on the field at GBN). Time for Dub V to go back and pick up that energy before their 3rd road trip in 4 games to Naperville Central.

Also - disappointed in the long lines at the concession stands. Basically I'm just disappointed:(

Stevenson deserves DSR consideration too. Had a close loss in Week 1 to a very good Palatine team. Went up to MI and beat their #3 overall team. Then handled Lake Forest in Week 3. The Patriots are a very good team. I see them finishing 8-1.

The more I look at this week's DSR....the more I think PR might be a casualty of my rankings this week. I'd take one-loss LWE, WV, GBN or Stevenson over PR, as well as undefeated Barrington. I expect PR to keep Maine Southing the remaining opponents on their schedule. I don't see them being challenged, since they've already beaten C-G and Huntley. But, that schedule will make them difficult to rank. We shall see.

Clown can speak to WWS' fortunes very well. From what I read, they looked good in the summer, but that's always a dicey projection. They are now a small enrollment fish in a large DVC pond. There is no conference even close to the DVC, in terms of overall strength and quality.

All hail Naperville North. I guess they were really something before electricity but all that preseason exuberance now seems downright reserved. Obviously many tough games ahead, but I now have a rooting interest in the DVC.

Not sure if Barrington's 500 yard explosion is a sign of their dominance or an indictment on Loyola but glad to see MC open up the playbook and send a message to ESL that there is something more to think about in week 12/13 or maybe 14.

I heard it was 41-17 at halftime GBN over WWS. It got a lot closer by end of game. The daily herald made it sound like Tricase's last playing time was in the 3rd quarter. I'm wondering if GBN pulled all their starters in the second half or just a couple. GBN only scored one TD in the second half and WWS came storming back to make the score look respectable.

Basically my question:
1. Were starters pulled and that's why WWS made a game of it at the end. OR
2. Did GBN "get tired" towards the end of the game and just had too big of a lead to squander for closing out the game?

I find myself still a little skeptical of Barrington as well (sorry Ramblin). Want to see how they do against Fremd and Palatine.

Can't keep the good Hilltopper team out of the top 10 any longer either. Interested to see that 3-week stretch of Lyons, HC and OPRF.

Palatine will be the right test to read Barrington. If Pal runs a train, the cascading effect will tax some pollsters beyond their capacity.

To a certain extent our Hitters had exact same questions last year only 1st three games on road this year so we lacked the Duchon mojo. I don't take LT or OPRF at Duchon lightly but really concerned about HC at HC for their homecoming.
