Just for general interest and possible discussion, here are the TOP 25 teams from 2023-2024 season, ranked by Points Scored and Points Allowed. An amazing observation is that UCONN, with a record of 37-3, is the only team ranked in both categories. Three (3) of the Top 25 scoring teams, Alabama, Purdue and UConn, were in the Final Four.

UConn with exactly a “plus 18” point differential average.

Pretty amazing to maintain that over a 40 game season. That was a genuinely dominant team the likes of which we rarely see in this new era.

Looking at top scoring and top defensive teams definitely seems to be trending towards high scoring offenses being a better gauge of success.
