A little different than just a simple "favorite movie" thread. Who are your favorite characters ever that you can likely quote off the top of your head?

This is hard. I'm not even sure these are my favorites. I could list close to a hundred or more.

Big 10-4 to Day-Lewis' delivery of Bill Cutting. One of the greatest character performances I know of. I'll add:

Eli Wallach's performance of Tuco (magnificent actor and epic performance)
Lee Marvin as Liberty Valance
John Wayne as Rooster Cogburn
Anthony Hopkins - Doctor Hannibal Lecter

I've got some action flick ones and some "artsy dramatic" ones as well. But no matter how old I get, I'm always a sucker for this character.

Jack Aubrey (Master and Commander)
Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer (Predator)
Kirk Lazarus (Tropic Thunder), wait, no Les Grossman. Hell, both were awesome.
Clubber Lane (Rocky 3)
Bhodi (Point Break)

Freddy Krueger - A Nightmare on Elm Street
Tony Stark - Ironman

Maybe not my favorites, but memorable ones I like off the top of my head.

lots of good ones mentioned that I wish I could/would have included. my list wasn't all that thought out, honestly just the first five to pop in my mind.

you could take almost any five of DDL's characters and put them in their own list.

5. Arne Grape - Just a great performance. Really portrayed the difficulties of dealing with mentally disabled without being over the top.

4. Joker - Pretty sure he was on a lot of speed for this, but great character nonetheless.

3. Stevo (SLC Punk) - Great portrayal of confused, rebellious kid figuring out how the world works. Ranty and obnoxious but it's spot-on.

2. Paul Dano - I like charismatic villains, and this is the best of all time.

1. Anton Chigurh - Stone cold. His delivery is exactly what Cormac McCarthy described in the book. Brilliant performance.
