If I'm forced to remove The Band due to the apparent canadianess of some of the members I'd add the Dead or Beach Boys.
Ha! ....Said the fan of REO, Journey & Foreigner (of which all those bands combined don't have a testicle amongst them).
Well I just realized mostly everyone I was going to submit was British so I'll just pass on this one.
Yeah lots of American Bands did this and kept the Stones off of the stage for 2 hours.

People say this, but it's wrong. Some opinions are more valid. Whose opinion would you take when fixing your car? Mechanics or a homeless dude who knows nothing about cars. While we're talking about qualitative and not quantitative measures, some things possess more quality than others. Comparing bands, you can rank them. Or best foods, etc.
Some people have **** taste in music, and yes, their opinion is less valid.
