I'll throw the name of De La Salle's Tom Duddleston in there. Last season, he was 239-of-388 for 2,731 yards and 25 TDs while completing 61.6 percent of his passes.

Duddleston is a stud very deserving of being mentioned, I don't think the coaching staff there did him any favors and there wasn't too much around him despite what the recruiting rankings say.

I have nothing against them or no history with them. I'm a Fenwick guy but in the 3-4 DLS games I saw I thought they were very poorly coached. I know it's a new regime, maybe it was a bad year etc but to an outsider Duddleston was VERY GOOD in spite of he coaching as opposed to because of the coaching like so many on here.

It's a new regime that is filled with guys left over from the old regime. Boehm (HC) was on staff for a long time before being promoted and their defense has been terrible for the past 2 seasons. Duddleston is a good QB that had bad coaching that past few seasons. One of his biggest downfalls is the amount of turnovers, I only saw 4 DLS games last season but he had 2-3 turnovers in each of them. He needs to clean that up for DLS to have any shot at the playoffs this season.

They have a RB on DLS who is a big, punishing runner. And they don't give him the ball much. Duddleston is great though, but they have to get that big kid in the mix.

I will be there as I am a bridgeport kid who went to MC. I usually have about 4-5 dinners wagered on the game. Last year I was giving 14.5pts, I'm thinking that number might go up this year.

The big powerful RB on DLS was Amir Watts, now enrolled at Phillips. They will have limited options at RB and WR this season.

No doubt they'll need to play well to win. If I'm not mistaken though I believe they played the same schedule frame last season. PC week 3, SR week 4, DLS week 5 and BR week 6. Lost both PC and SR before beating DLS by 41 or so and then obviously lost to BR next week. I always think we need to play well and am never content until the clock hits :00. I just think that coaching is a huge difference in HS football and The DLS guys aren't even in the same exosphere as Coach Frank.

Lol, you guys are harsh. I'm sorry but I'm just laughing and some of the things you guys said. "Duddleston is a good QB that had bad coaching that past few seasons"...I mean, it's high school, these guys aren't in the NFL. Relax. I just don't think I could ever say that about a high school coach who devotes his time to make kids better at a sport and life, even if it was my worst enemy. Just saying.

I like the games at Carey Field. It is a cool view an a nice atmosphere. Plus it gives me a chance to ask Fr. Tony if I can walk through the halls and reminisce about all the good times as well as the times I had JUG.

It isn't litle league football. The object is to win, obviously not like college and of course pro but still. Tommy Duddleston has college talent so it's not unfair to make an observation about the coaching staff not doing him any favors. He should be going to school for free and still probably will but with better coaching he may be in a better position right now. Although his other choice was MC and that would have been silly. (Great coaches but not the offense for a QB).

It's a long ride out to Wilmette but I think he would've been an absolute stud playing for the staff out there.

really excited to see cade earl this year. he is going to have some weapons. He was missed big time late last season. He may be the QB that changes JCA's offense...

Seriously. It's wishful thinking though.

Based on everything I have heard, they are going to try to open up the offense. We shall see. They have a lot coming back on offense and a chance to be really good.

I'd love to see it. Lord knows JCA has the talent to run a modern passing offense.

One name I forgot from before would be Emmett Clifford of Loyola, who in my opinion, should have been the Ramblers starting QB all year.

MC will fling it around to a little this year. They do what they do but Thompson will have Saffold, Wirtel and Lewis at TE. #AirLenti

I think Chris Katrenick (2017) of Jacobs High School in Algonquin could have a big year. Started last year as an unknown sophomore and threw for 1500 yds in a run based offense with a D1 running back. Made all Fox Valley Conference and All Area HM. Big kid at 6' 2" 195 lb with big accurate arm and can run some too.
