Top Class of 2027 recruit Landon Sidun goes in-depth on picking Penn State wrestling: ‘No better place to be’
Penn State wrestling landed top Class of 2027 recruit Landon Sidun on Monday. Here, he explains why he picked the Lions.
Both are true. Several 2026 guys ranked ahead of him PFP until they graduate. Thanks for the article Greg. I noticed you had him listed as 14th PfP but isn’t he ranked 4th by Matscouts for 2027?
Shhhhhhhh! Don’t anger the GodsSidun is a great get... Luke for 3 more years followed by 4 years of Sidun.... our 125 curse should be way in the rearview mirror!
Yeah, I wrote that part kind of clumsily. Sorry, I'll update to make it clearer. But, at any rate, he is No. 4 on MatScout's big board for just the Class of 2027, No. 14 in the outlet's overall pound-for-pound high school rankings, and No. 1 at 120.Thanks for the article Greg. I noticed you had him listed as 14th PfP but isn’t he ranked 4th by Matscouts for 2027?
Sidun is a great get... Luke for 3 more years followed by 4 years of Sidun.... our 125 curse should be way in the rearview mirror!
you are correct on ...its not wise to predict weight classes 6 and 7 years out... sidun could realistically end up at 33.... his gene pool suggests he probably wont grow a ton but agreed.... lets keep it on a 2 -3 year projection.I never felt we had a curse @ 125.
Sidun is a great get, and could slide in nicely @ 125.
@WillieTheBrain speculates in the latest BaschAMania (see the National Duals thread for the video) that Landon may start out in college @ 125, but will probably end up @ 133.
And as I've said many, many times over the years, projecting future weights of prospects that are early in their junior year of HS is impossible -- best to just let nature take its course, and see where things are when the kids get to college.
