Hollywood is no longer original.

At least it's not another comic book movie.

Christopher Nolan is the exception to this rule but generally speaking Hollywood produces boring spoon fed drivel these days. Most of their remakes (Flight of the Phoenix, Ben Hur, Ghostbusters, etc) are insults to the originals.

No way in hell the government/Navy is going to let them use the Lightning. That’s an expensive oops if something goes wrong, plus it’s still too new to have spares lying around.

I agree, but how much actual plane flight do you think is actually going to be real this time. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot isn't digital this time around.

I read somewhere that while a bunch of it is digital, they still used quite a few real jets. It was a big honor for the naval aviators who were chosen to be the pilots.

Thought the same. Shots of Cruise on the motorcycle, volleyball scene...feels a little paint by numbers.
Ehh, took me back to 10 year old me. Loved it. Ever hear an old song that takes you back to a happy place? Happens every time I pass by this movie. I unapologetically loved the original, and will for sure see this. The only better way to see it would be because I was inverted...I need a Pepsi.

it looked real or more real than the original did...them go pro camers are great! Yanking on that stick like that would leave your teeth back at home I think. That might have been a bit for show. I will definitely go see it...I have a friend who flies the F18 and I said to another person in his presence that he flew the F16...he quickly corrected me by holding up the peace sign...they get insulted if you accuse them of flying a single engine jet.
