I cant find the thread with my post about who Lincoln was interviewing for the DB coaching spot but it was Torrian Gray that interviewed. The DB coach for the Redskins that was once the Florida Gators, Virginia Tech (his alma mater) db coach. Anyway, Grinch supposedly will get one of his guys now which is fine.

I would’ve rather wanted Gray but I do like Manning and he is a good recruiter. Crazy how we play UCLA next year too. I think manning will get our Dbs to actually look for the ball
Just about anything will be considered improvement. Grinch and Manning have lots of coaching to do to get the DBs better positioned.
Gray is a much better coach, Manning is a LB coach that failed at UCLA. You think now the DB will turn there heads when the ball is in the air???
Gray probably would have been a better hire since he has coached the secondary at the highest level, hopefully Grinch and Riley know what they are doing, we all know that it cant get much worse than it was.
You may be right but maybe Gray turned down the job. He coached a long time in college and then moved on to the NFL. Maybe he likes it better there. Then again Riley could have just not offered Gray because Grinch wanted Manning on HIS staff. If you’re right about Manning, it’s most likely going to be on Grinch. I don’t know enough about either to make a case against your opinion, but I hope you’re wrong. Post more. I’ve missed your input. Boomer!
He did well his one year as the Michigan DB coach I posted the stats
7th in total defense
13th in passing yards allowed
I do agree Gray is better but Manning is also good.
I hope he works out, but he got torched against the only good quarterback in the B1G.
Haskins is avery good QB, but Manning coached the DB's at Michigan in 2014. He has since been coaching OLB at WSU and UCLA.
It appears Grinch is assembling guys that have coached or are familiar with his Speed Defense when he was at WSU. If that’s the case, I like it.
Michigan has slow dbs and did in 2014 when manning coached them but they were fundamentally sound ... We don’t have slow dbs but we can’t tackle that’s something Michigan could do though. So our speed with fundamentals in play now will be a good thing
