Maybe next year. There is that small issue though of losing 7 first and second round draft picks on defense.

Buckeye fan here. Miami won fair and square, no excuses. OSU"s oline got exposed the last 2 games. Lost many key guys from last years OL and DL. That is how college football works now. That said, "duhOSU" has 3 NC's in the last 23 years. I'll take it. By the way, every major college team is a "$" now. Good luck to PSU going forward. Michigan lost, that's good. I am going to drown my sorrows in a couple of beers and welcome in the new year.
I’m scratching my head as to why you would be on a Penn State board when NOT a Penn State fan and your team is not liked here.
You’re happy Michigan lost?
I’m overjoyed that the Ohowihate suckeyes from columbASS ohiya lost.
Notice my board name which indicates where I live.

Simply because it is a free board. OSU's boards are not. I won't pay to play. I try to add a respectful dimension to the board. You are from Ohio. What do you want, a cookie?

You do realize that they lost by 10 as a 9.5 Point Favorite as a #2 Seed (after their OL was exposed in the b1g CCG) to an ACC team that didn't even make the ACC Championship Game? You add that all up and it puts into perspective how absurdly overrated duhO$U was by the CFP Seeding Committee AFTER watching duhO$U lose the b1g CCG - no way on God's green earth should have duhO$U been seeded ahead of TxTech or UGa - no way.

Here is the problem with your thinking. Going into that game, OSU had 1 loss by a FG to the then #2 team in the country (Indiana). No committee will seed that differently given that Indiana is the only undefeated team in the country. That all said, OSU got exposed on offense. OL specifically and FG kicker.

Honestly a 10 seed that many felt wasn't deserving making the semis only helps the argument for a 24 team playoff.

Miami winning was helpful in so many ways...starting with the timeline is going to be moved up so teams aren't going a month between games.

One key interception decided that game. Maybe Miami got some comeuppance for 2003.

You're a moron troll - there, I said it.

LMAO, duhO$U couldn't even win their first CFP Game as a 9.5 point favorite (losing by 10 and it could have easily been worse) - so you weren't even close dipshat.
People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

Perhaps you want to revisit your thread about the OSU offense following their game with Texas. Methinks your critique was completely off base - so you weren’t even close dipshat

Last year all four of the top seeds lost after their bye week. Might happen again.

I’ll add that too many people correlate the results of a game with if they should have been there and where they should have been seeded. CFB is laced with match ups in a way the NFL isn’t. Blowouts and unexpected results occur all the time.

While more teams won’t change this even a little, it will put more teams in that should be allowed to compete for all the marbles.

duhO$U has gotten a pretty paltry return on the massive sums they have spent on football they had an Athletic Department shortfall of nearly $40 million in FY2024 due to massive NIL spending. They're projected to again register a big shortfall in FY2025 - this year's team was laughably over-rated especially relative to the massive sums of $$$ spent on paying and buying players. They lost by 10 to a team they were favored to beat by 9.5 points at kickoff - an ACC team that didn't even qualify for the ACC Championship Game. Apparently the Suckeyes were far from "the best team money can buy". LMAO!

I was thinking that, but special teams made a huge difference too.

One key interception was the difference??? Gee, maybe the fact that duhO$U only had 45 rushing yards, Sayin was sacked 5 times, threw 2 INTs and Miami had a nearly 7 minute TOP advantage had something to do with it??? LMAO, that these lame duhO$U fans can't admit that Miami's Defense utterly exposed and embarrassed duhO$U's typically ineffective offense against good teams. Keep in mind that this is probably the most expensive CFB team in FBS Football (duhO$U recorded a nearly $40 million FY2024 Athletic Department shortfall due to NIL payments and is on track to record a similarly negative number in FY2025!). Relative to the amount of money that duhO$U spends on buying wins, their team is not that good - they just got beat by 10 by a team they were favored by 9.5 Points over??? An ACC team that recorded 2 ACC losses (the ACC that these loser b1g jock-sniffers prattle on about what an awful conference it is... blah, blah, blah) - a 2-loss ACC team that didn't even qualify for the ACC Championship Game! Now the lame suckeye jock-sniffers are claiming that they only lost because of one lucky interception.... not that their team was dominated on defense by a 9.5-point underdog 2-loss ACC team who beat them by 10 going away. LMAO.

PSU lost to a 24 point underdog without a coach.
Then PSU lost to a 21 pt underdog at home.
Second ranked team in the country, huh?

you doth protest too much.

I'd like to see the ACC rules as to how/ who gets into the Conference title game. Virginia?---give me a break. Also, James Madison and Tulame? Texas and BYU should have been in over these. ND---only decent win was over USC, Strength of schedule in the pit, afraid to play opponents with a pulse.

Give Saban credit. He said if Miami gets in the CFP they have a good chance of winning it all. They are peaking at the right time. Excellent defense, can run the ball which allows Beck to control the game and not have to carry the team. PSU needs tougher players. Franklin recruited nice kids. Some would say soft. Hence their record against top ranked teams. Miami is willing to have a fist fight against top teams. Mario recruits and brings that attitude. Campbell is known to want tough gritty players. Will see how he encourages some players to seek their fortune elsewhere and what type of recruits he brings in going forward. To beat OSU Michigan Oregon etc you need not only talented players but players who bring edge and attitude willing to slug it out in the trenches.

For those who have watched OSU and Miami play this year it was clear that when playing comparable talent OSU lacked a potent running game to control the clock and their OL, especially the right side of the line, struggled. Tegre was a liability all season and Padilla and VanSickcle were really no massive upgrade. Mesidor and Bain put belt to *** is one reason why Donaldson got the snaps he got over Jackson, whose "blocking" was poor.

Oh give me a break - Miami lost 2 ACC games and didn't even qualify for the ACC Championship Game - you know the ACC that b1g loser jock-sniffers like to claim sucks and is the equivalent of G5 FBS Football Conference? duhO$U lost by 10 going away to a team they were favored to beat by 9.5 Points at game time! duhO$U's offense was utterly dominated defensively - duhO$U had a paltry 45 yards rushing, Sayin was sacked 5 times and threw 2 INTs... Relative to the amount of money that duhO$U has spent on this team they are not very good (duhO$U has spent more on players than anybody in CFB - duhO$U recorded an Athletic Department deficit of -$40 million in FY2024 due to NIL payments and is on track to record a similarly negative number this year FY2025). duhO$U has pursued a strategy of the "best team money can buy", but has come up woefully short relative to the absurd amount of money they have spent to win "college football games" - pathetic culture.

OSU's athletic department deficit was not caused by NIL payments.

It absolutely was caused by NIL payments junior. You duhO$U jock-sniffers are whiny little turds - I love your latest pathetic little whine that Miami only won because of a lucky INT. LMAO - duhO$U loses by 10 going away to a team they are favored to beat by 9.5 Points at game time... an ACC team that lost two ACC games and didn't even qualify for the ACC Championship Game (you know, the ACC that supposedly sucks beyond belief according to the sucknut jock-sniffers).... But duhO$U only lost because of one fluke interception - LMFAO at you lame losers who place so much of your own self-importance on a professional football team that you have zero to do with and has little affiliation with a "collegiate football team" that represents their University and fellow students but in name only.

We spent a ton of money and went 6-6
Also, Ohio State is mostly home grown. Texas Tech, Indiana and Miami are trying to buy titles.

Happy New Year Bushwhacker! Keep spreading the goodwill.

As a person of Eastern European and Irish ancestry I will vouch that Pennsylvania has a large population with Eastern European heritage. I am from the Harrisburg area, where we are a minority, but if you head into NE and Western PA there are large populations of folks with similar backgrounds to mine. Given the 12 million population of Pennsylvania we are a smaller minority, but it would not surprise me if our numbers approach a million or more in total. If you want to argue, argue. The facts can be seen with a simple drive through former NE and Western PA steel and coal communities, where Eastern European folks built churches and cemeteries. Those populations are more dispersed now. Like my family we married other ethnic groups and migrated to other areas. We left evidence of our heritage behind us.

Our PA football heritage was greatly impacted by Eastern European cititzens. From the twenties thru the seventies I would dare say boys with names ending in SKI, OF, OV, etc. were a dominant force in Pennsylvania highschool football and basketball. Little Steelton PA, never larger than a Class A school, was known for beating larger schools like Harrisburg, Reading, etc. with "Hunky" players. Western PA schools dominated Eastern PA schools for years in the state basketball playoffs with similar ethnic Eastern European dominated squads.

Wrong, we didn't spend nearly as much as duhO$U - you're full of crap as per usual. duhO$U spent the 3rd most in FBS in FY2023 (behind only Bama and aTm) - they increased football spending by 12% in FY2024 and again this year. Laughable to claim that PSU has spent anywhere near what duhO$U has on paying players (NIL), but keep telling yourself this anti-factual bs as if that makes it so.
