Totally disrespected on college football final (ESPN)

I'm with you, but the rating say otherwise and have for a long time. Networks chase ratings.

ESPN's most profitable shows are PTI and First Take ... or at least First Take before Skip Bayless left. Those shows net tens of millions of dollars for Disney.
You're right, and I hate it. ESPN now caters to the lowest common denominator with shows like PTI and First Take. They try so hard to unearth any stories possible or drive storylines that are profitable to them. When ESPN doesn't have the stories they want, then they stumble all over themselves to create stories out of nothing.

Is there any doubting ESPN's influence in the NCAA's silence regarding UNC's perpetual history of academic fraud?

I didn't see ESPN College Football Final.

However, I did watch ESPN College Football Sunday.

I don't know if the clips were identical.

This morning the clip was only 90 seconds. They showed only Lamar Jackson's opening running touchdown. Then they showed his 4th quarter fumble and the Kentucky bench reaction. The third play -- and last -- they showed was the winning field goal.

They said that Kentucky hadn't beaten a ranked team on the road since 2002 (Louisville) -- 25 straight.

Then they segued to a discussion of the Heisman race.

Those are the only highlights I have seen from the game for any show. Always those three plays. I think I might have seen the Baker touchdown on one actually, but I think that was SEC Now. Not sure.

The full SEC Now, not the ten minute filler post game, talked at length about Kentucky. I've watched it several times through this morning. It's about to again if you wanna flip over.

How many more post about Espn sucking across our football and basketball boards before some of you get it? It is pretty easy, don't watch it, it is trash. I haven't in years.

Watch that show SEC Now this morning about 11:00. They usually have a lot of good highlights.

ESPN is really getting to be unwatchable. I mean it's great having plenty of games to watch but Sportscenter and their commentary shows really suck now,
Just now realizing that? Been that way for well over a decade.

Don't know about ESPN but got a lot of love on SECN.

You're right.

They even showed the UofL band trying to disrupt our Cat Walk.

They highlighted both Johnson-Johnson TD passes and well as impressive touchdown runs by Boom and Snell...and the TD pass to Baker.

They showed the Kentucky interception of the Jackson tipped pass.

They seemed excited that UK was the only Power 5 team with two 1,000-rushers.

They mentioned that MacGinnis was all SEC two years ago but was injured last year...and that many collegiate kickers would struggle with a 47-yard FG attempt, but pointed out that MacGinnis kicked it right down the middle.

They showed a good chunk of Stoops' post-game press conference.

Then back in the studio, Doering and Booger talked about Kentucky being a program on the rise. Booger said the UK defense has had dramatic improvement since Stoops took over.

Kentucky football isn't a national story. The story was Lamar Jackson and his Heisman chances. It wasn't hate or dissing UK, just the way it is. If they'd have beaten Houston and we'd knocked them out of the playoff pictures, it would be covered more. Don't take it so personal.
Hopefully you aren't being serious. Maybe you were one of the lucky few who weren't listening to their commentary, because it was one UK hit job after another while making Lamar Jackson sound like hes an unstoppable football god or something.

Best post on this subject. We had a nice win made more so with the spread and Heisman implications. We moved the national needle "a little" yesterday and only for a half day. To the world of "big time" CFB we are starting to show promise, but don't confuse that with respect. Respect comes with years of winning and contending for a conference championship. Hopefully yesterday's victory was our first step toward consistent winning and ..... "respect." GBB!

Like it or not, the biggest storyline from this game -- before, during and after -- was, and is, Lamar Jackson. That's just how it is, and should be.

We got tons of love all day and were across the ticker all night.

A 28 point underdog winning in their house vs a fringe CFP team with the heisman FrontRunner is a huge story of what they did wrong.

I don't know what you were watching, but all day they only showed like 3 highlights and talked about it for a minute. How hard would it be to add a minute of highlights while they talked about the game? We don't watch it to just look at their faces talking about it. I watched both ESPN and SEC Network throughout the day and that was the best they did. It was probably no worse than the 2nd best game all day. Even the scroll only mentioned Lamar Jackson's stats for most of the day before finally adding some UK stats to it later in the night.

I didn't see this yesterday, but I couldn't care less. I can't watch ESPN anymore. I do like the SECN, but overall ESPN (other than live sports) has been a dumpster fire for a long time now. I long for the days of SportsCenter like it was with Dan Patrick and co.

I will always hate doering but booger is solid. I like his takes on us even when they have been unflattering.

They sure did. That's how they sold all those Wednesday night games.

But this is somewhat old news. When Louisville agreed to the deal where they'd play any day of the week just to get on tv, ESPN started hyping them in an attempt to get ratings for those games.

Exactly, I have been contending that ESPN owed jurich and UL favorable treatment for years (still going on) because he was willing to disrupt classes at a moment's notice to fill in any blank spots in their schedule. And they are still repaying the favors. I think one of the more obvious things is when they never mentioned the NROTY again when hurtt's real story came out and suddenly Strong was the greatest recruiter going.

It's been going on since Ragone kept a Heisman journal on espn, when no one realistically thought he was a Heisman contender.

Heard Finebaum say: "Louisville wins this game" guess in looking at our record 4 of 5 loses in the SEC he forgot "here in the SEC it just means more"

talked about Heisman for 5 min, showed all Jackson high/low lights, about all we got was the FG going through the uprights, one guy even said "aren't we gonna show any UK highlights??"

If I were Stoops i would say something, enough to where ESPN has to say something in response... I dont know what you watched but I didn't really see some fluke out there today, and we deserved some credit
Still won't take the big L off their record
