You're right, and I hate it. ESPN now caters to the lowest common denominator with shows like PTI and First Take. They try so hard to unearth any stories possible or drive storylines that are profitable to them. When ESPN doesn't have the stories they want, then they stumble all over themselves to create stories out of nothing.I'm with you, but the rating say otherwise and have for a long time. Networks chase ratings.
ESPN's most profitable shows are PTI and First Take ... or at least First Take before Skip Bayless left. Those shows net tens of millions of dollars for Disney.
