Through all their problems the Horns still have won 2 of the last 5 games from OU and have played OU close the other 3 times.
I expect the same this season.

Texas has only 4 commitments: Three 4-star and one 3-star.....yet their class is ranked 26th by Rivals. That seems very high for a 4-commitment class, even with 3 highly rated players.
I believe it will get better between now and whichever signing day comes along, but Herman has a lot of work ahead of him.

" Wilson told Rivals of his interest in Texas. "I'm not going to lie, the official visit made me think about them a little more. In the end, I've watched a lot of people go to Texas with a ton of ability and maybe not achieve what I thought they could. I didn't want to be one of those guys."

This may be good for temporary "feel good" for some Sooner fans but it will not make ut any easier to defeat come September.

I just like to hear, a Texas recruit talking **** about UT and planting a seed in other recruits minds. Go to Texass, as a highly touted recruit and get zero development.

They have another very bad Oline. Zero running game and the same QB's, that fit into Tom Hermans offense. Most of their key defensive players, graduated or went into the draft. They have what looks like some great true freshman, coming in. But they're untested.

The bad news. Having the better talent and team, does not mean a win in the RRS. Actually the underdog wins about 30% of the time

Ya I bet they are scared to death after recruiting the #4 ranked class in the country last year. Recruiting rankings, or what one single recruit does this time of year will be irrelevant come next February.

5 or 4 Star Austin TX, Lake Travis, Garrett Wilson picks, tOSU. Said to many great HS Texas kids go to Austin and never develop.

Tom Herman and the Texass bunch are scared.
This is Herman's 2nd year. Most of the things Wilson said happened before Herman got there. We will see

UT has not been easy to beat since 1957. With a few exceptions.
Yes, like the 1-11 record OU had from 1958-1970 against Texas.
During those years, I was resolved that OU would never beat Texas. It always seemed that the team accepted that fate as well.
My dad took me to the 1958 game and the 1971 game....from the game that started the "drought"....to the game that ended it.
Royal always had his team prepared and focused and several times (1962, 1967, 1968) OU made mistakes that doomed them in those three close games.
As I sat down to watch the 1971, I was resolved that another OU loss to Texas was at hand. When Texas scored first to go up 7-0, I was pretty certain OU would not prevail. Mildren took over and I had one of the best days of my life.

UT and Herman is afraid because Riley in a short time is ranked number 1 in the nation in 2019 recruitment. Stoops was a good recruiter but Lincoln is so much better. Our Sooners need to build plenty of room for championship trophies for the future.

At the Dec. 1970 UT football banquet a reporter asked a Horn player what he thought about the Sooners adopting the Wishbone T. The UT player reportedly answered, "I think we're telling Aggie jokes about the wrong school."

After the 1971 game, Darrel Royal reportedly said the 1971 Sooners was the best football team he had ever faced. Darrel Royal never defeated the Sooners again.

Recruitment means nothing if you can't coach them up. Our defensive coaches have no excuses this year if we aren't vastly improved on that side of the ball.
