on a team of tough players and coaches, this guy stands out. At his size, 54 carries against 2 brutal defenses the last 2 weeks in Clemson and Virginia.

Totally agree, played against 2 of the top 15 run defenses in the country and racks up 260+ yards. Will have our first 1000 yard RB in quite a while.

Hell, I was just looking at the stats. Hall and Cunningham will be over the 500 yard mark, as well! Pretty impressive. Hawkins may get to the 1000 mark against the U in 2 weeks.

I watched the game on TV and the announcers were talking about our offensive line. They said they talked with CSS and he said one his main goals was to build a great offensive line for the running game. This line is vastly improved from what it once was and the running backs are benefiting from it. Just think the more he improves that line Hawkins and Hall are going to get more yardage than they are getting now.

I'm actually glad Petrino didn't burn his redshirt. The o-line would have gotten him killed last season.

Hawkins is tough, gonna be a joy to have the kid around the next 2-3 years. Just hope we keep beefing up our OLine, which should not be a problem so long Ledford stays around.

As 1987 pointed out, BP did manage to save Hawkins’ redshirt. Credit for that, if that was his intention.
